Sorry dude.
Hope the kids can cope. Not easy when a loyal family member goes. |
Sorry for the loss my friend
I just lost my little buddy a week ago, and I still look for him around the house, and then I remember It's hard to let go. |
You know when you take them in that someday they will break your heart, but there is nothing in this world that compairs to the love, loyalty, dedication of a dog. Everytime I go through it I swear never again, but I keep getting another fully knowing what the future holds. Just reflect on the sheer joy they provided and know that you gave them the best life they could have. Then let time diminish the pain.
My condolences. |

my dogs have always been a part of my family.
when the last one died i cried like a school girl. Sorry for your loss. |
Brother: it just got much, much easier for her. Because you did the right thing by ending her suffering, instead of prolonging it to avoid your own pain.
She's chasing acres upon acres of squirrels as we speak, and sleeps under the bacon tree. |
I believe dogs have souls and one day you will be reunited with her.

Sorry to hear about your loss.
I had a Blue Heeler "Jake". He was me running partner for 12 years. He died in 04, and I still miss him badly. |
Stupid. Silly. Just a pet.
Thats what I used to think, then we got dogs. Sure does change your mindset once you own them. Sorry for your loss. |
Sorry for your loss. It never does get easier, but know that you made her time here the best it could be! |

My cocker spaniel had cancer. She was 14 yrs old. She struggled for over a year, one day my dad said "that dogs been good to you, you need to be good to her." That was one of the worst days of my life, I know how hard it is for you right now, but it will get better. Time heals all.

Sorry for your loss, been there a few times myself and it always breaks your heart.
As a person who rescued two border collies myself, I really feel for your loss.
I know your pain. Had my border collie/rott mix pass away on Mothers day. Still brings tears to my eyes.
I know the feeling had to put down my 10year golden Monday-sucks
Sorry guy.
I know and feel your pain. Make sure you quickly follow one of the saddest days in your life with one of the happiest. There is a litlle pup right now looking over the top of her box waiting for you to come. |
Sorry to hear... you are 100% right on that. From one border collie lover to another, you have my condolences.

Thought we were going to have to put my wife's little buddy down yesterday due to a possible stroke. As of this evening, he has been able to stand and walk around enough to pee on stuff, so we'll see. It's truly amazing how attached we can get to our four-legged friends. They really are a gift. I'm really sorry for your loss, prayers sent for you and your family.

Lost my Malamute to a stroke. Listening to her struggling to breathe, knowing the Vet was only open from 8-12 (Saturday), I think I sat with her from 6 AM to 11, before deciding I had to do the right thing. We discussed old times, and she had her head in my lap, but finally, I knew it was time. That was 2003. Still miss her.
Sorry for your loss. |
Sorry to hear. I can empathize...I have two Border Collies, and the older is 14 and really struggling. I'm dreading the day when I have to put her down. My kids grew up with her.

If you were a good master then she got all she wanted out of life.
Dog ask for very little but love and some food and in return will spend their entire life making you smile. Sounds like a pretty good tradeoff. I still think about my last one, Mitzi, miss her but she still brings a smile to my face when I think of her antics. No one can ever take the good memories one has about a dog, they linger forever. Sorry for your loss. |

Sorry for your loss. The memories will always be with you and over time the pain will ease my friend. Rainbow Bridge - Author unknown Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together.... |

Nothing brings a grown man to tears faster! I just went through this also and am looking to rescue another one. Sorry for your loss.

Sorry to hear that.
I had to put down my little Sheltie last year. It was like putting a little old lady to sleep. Good luck. |

Sincere thanks for all the prayers, well-wishes, and sympathy. I read each and every response... 49 folks who took time to reply to what was my feeble attempt at a cathartic post dealing with the death of a beloved pet.
