Got pulled over 68 in a 55, I really thought I was in a 70 zone but no.
Handed him my license and said, "my proof of insurance is in the glove box and so is a handgun." He said, "go ahead, you're not going to shoot me are you?" "No sir." Handed him my insurance card, he asked me to go ahead and pick up the gun by the bbl and hand it to him. I did so. When he came back with my citation, he handed me the gun unloaded. "I put your extra round in the magazine. If you're going to keep that for self-defense you need better ammo. 9mm ball won't do much but getcha a good hot hollowpoint in there and it'll have more stopping power." "Yes sir." "Drive safely." 10/10 for the officer for treating the gun and the gun owner properly.

he is right about ball ammo, get some brand name hollow points.

Dude, that's cool.
I think cool cops like that kick ass...that was the sort of LEO my grandfather was. Honest, fair, had common sense, and was not a constitution hating statist. I liked the line that one arfcommer got when he was pulled over and informed the officer he was CCW...the officer just said "You don't reach for yours and I won't reach for mine, fair enough?"...or something to that affect. |

Oh yeah, and I prefer 124 gr +P Gold Dots...lots of other good choices though. Just make sure that whatever you go with is "bonded" (supposudely prevents jacket / core separations when hitting bone, etc.).

Get some Blended Metal, it's got what guns crave. You aren't implying I'm from idiocracy because I said he should get bonded JHPs are you? |

My incident had him saying "If you don't shoot at me I won't shoot at you" |

I had mine taken after I had to draw in self defense. After the initial search and such he gave it back and said "You did everything right, here is your sidearm".
Got the letter in the mail the other day saying the BG plead guilty to assault and blah blah blah... Not all leos want you unarmed. |

I've never had a bad experience with the police while carrying (open or concealed) here. I think it was right after Flagstaff. I got pulled over doing 10 over on the highway. lic. ins. reg. gun is in the glovebox w/ the info hew needed. Informed him, everything is fine. Handed him the pistol, muzzle toward me, and in a kydex holster. He then has me come back to the car with him. He aparently has no idea where the serial number is on a glock. He is standing passenger side, with the gun out of the holster waving it at me, passengers, and people driving by. I knew it was empty, but I am not 100% that he knew the same. He let me go with a warning, a gun, an empty mag and handfull of rounds. I am surprised he didn't go back to mar car and empty my other mag out. |

Damn I wish I could get my SR9 back. A cop took it over 7 months ago and still haven't gotten it back. Glad it worked out better for you. hopefully I'll get it back before I'm too damn old to shoot it.

That's a weak ass ticket but that's pretty cool that cop was so nice. I'd rather him take a round of my damn ammo and keep the ticket too though.

Lady cop pulled me over.
Gave her the paperwork and told her I have my CCW. She said could she see it. I took it out still in the holster. She took it and the paperwork and went to her car. She cameback and said to drive slower, my trailer tag was expired but wasnt gonna give me any tickets. But she took all the rounds out of the G26 magazine and handed them to me! She said she just wanted to make sure I wasnt going to change my mind and shoot her when she was walking back to her car!! |
