Pick up a Glock 19 at my local shop

Any particular ammo I should get for it?

I have a 23 and a 36. The holster for the 19 is the same right?

ETA: The girlfriend just reminded me to tell you guys that this is her birthday present to me.

for target and break in I would use some PMC and or maybe even some Wolf just to wear it in a bit .

I'm convinced that all thinsg considered, the winchester ranger-t 147-grain load is the best SD/HD load for a 9mm on the market, and OMB express should have it in stock at a good price.

YMMV.

How do you like your G36?

It's great. Just too expensive to shoot.

More capacity would be nice too. No 33 round mags for the 36.

type of ammo = lots of it. Go to Wally world and get the winchester white box by the 100. If they have it.

I shoot a lot of PMC through my XD.  Aside from the blowing up part, they're pretty similar.

If you have a choice of ammo, get whatever's a good price.  WWB isn't bad and the brass-cased Wolf is good to go.  I've never fired steel-cased but it's also not as available around MD as the other budget stuff.  In the next few months, I'm going to try to work up a target handload once I collect enough brass.

For defense, Ranger SXT or Gold Dot.  I use the Ranger only because I picked up a bunch at a good price.  I would feel comfortable with either, though.

Holster is the same.

The ammo selection is not usually important except to avoid foreign surplus and reloads.  In almost all situations, the skill of the person behind the firearm is more important than the round used.  A directed hit would normally be "good"  when delivered to a desired location.  And, of course, a miss is a miss.  No dollar a round ammo can make up for a lack of skill.

Stay with known US factory fresh ammo and factory magazines and you will not be out here posting the usual complaints.

AIM usually has Wolf .45ACP once a month or so.

I just picked up 1K last week.

How many rounds do you have through it and have you had any failures?

I have a few thousand through it easy. Mostly my Grandfathers reloads. (Barry's plated 230gr round nose) Never once had any type of failure.

Thats with both my regular mags and a Pierce +1 extension.

I have shot more handloads through my Glocks than I can count. Never a single problem.

OMB has had the RA9T on backorder for some time.

I've been waiting for months now.

I didn't know that. I picked up a case (the bonded version) a few months ago. Until you mentioned this, I had forgot that I got the bonded version instead of the older version. I'd be happy with either, truthfully.
