Why did he use the blunt side?

Having just experienced a TASER, I think the axe would feel better! [whacko]

i think the cockpit axe has a special blade that will not allow it penetrate the skin of an aircraft.
the taser, in the wrong hands, could interfere with the electronics.[:D]

Sorry, but you think wrong.  it is very capable of such.

The crash axe was not used as effectively as it could have been used in this case (UAL), if it were, the perp would be dead.

I thought the Taser people told us United Air had adopted the Taser for cockpit defense.

They also make a lot of claims about the output not being strong.  Only 4 AA batteries & also clain it won't interfere with a heart pacemaker.
It might do something to electronics but I doubt it.

Maybe antiUSSA could offer to take one on a plane to see.....  a parked one of course.

Rolling down the aisle of the plane¡K

Some like to brute force¡K
Others like to stand at a distance and push buttons.

I guess I¡¦m the other.

So will antiUSSA volunteer to test the effectiveness of the blunt-end vs. the sharp-end, then tell us about it?

Inquiring minds want to know!
