im looking at getting one and im afraid only cops and people who have complete 5.11 wardrobes wear them.

i like the rough duty idea with tritium inserts but i dont want to wear any stigma that might come with these watches

It takes much more than a high speed watch to become a mall ninja.

hubby wears one, and he's no mall ninja, and while he does wear 5.11 sometimes, it's hardly his entire wardrobe.

get the watch you like.

If you like the watch, buy it.

I have a traser 3.  I like the tritium at night,  I have bad vision and it is easy to see.

With the help of my wife, I "lost" my watch of 15 years...and found it int he middle of an intersection in about 87 million pieces.

I've been looking at these as well. Any body got "non-dealer" pics of one on a wrist? I'd like to get an idea of how thick they are.

Thanks.

I like them and they do make a model of the ever popular "Navy SEALs" model without the SEAL's name and logo. Look around, there are some great bargains to be had.

Only the models with the Trident on them.

The problem is in your mind. No one can see the "Navy Seals" outside of a few feet away and then it will look like any other black dive watch. I've been trying to kill mine for the last 12 years and have been unsuccessful so far. The tritium still glows very bright.

To answer another poster, the standard model watch is very light and thin.

How about this idea:

Wear whatever kind of watch you want to, and quit worrying about what other people think.

Seriously, if it came down to someone else telling me I can't wear this or that because it doesn't suit THEM, I would tell them to fuck themselves.

Hey, I have 5.11 pants and T-shirts, but I love my Casio G-Shock.

I was about to say the same thing.  I'm growing quite fond of 5.11 pants.

The watch is a start.  You need to get a copy of the mall ninja magazine to properly accessorize.

Yup. You need to be able to carry SAPI plates on your back to withstand multiple .308 hits.

wearing clothes that are comfy. And watches that work does not make you a mall ninja.........I wear 5.11 to work in, I have been thinking about a luminox watch for diving.
I think its the actions and attitude that makes a choad.

Gotta cover your partner while she assembles the sniper rifle.

My brother-in-law is a rescue diver.  A year or two ago he was down on a dive looking around for a body and saw a funky glow on the sea floor.  Lo and behold, it was a luminox navy seal model.  Last I heard he's still wearing it.  No idea how long it was down there.

I have had a Luminox Stealth for over 10 years and it still works great.  Get the metal band.  It's more, but it lasts MUCH longer than the others.

Mine keeps perfect time, but the tritium inserts have faded significantly.  I do not wear 5.11 and I have not been to a mall since last Christmas.

If I were going to spend a little more than Luminox dollars I would suggest you look at Cyma's.

Only if you get the official "navy seal" model.

I bought a nice used one with blue face, I like it but it's too small.  I'm going to sell it....

I got the one with the trident in St. Thomas on our honeymoon.

So far I've had 5 Navy Seals come up and ask me what squad I was in and where I was stationed.

They were all wearing their Luminox watches too.

I had to explain to them that I was straight civ, although I was a lifeguard one summer during high school.

They were like -"Oh bro, no way, that righteous watch totally had us fooled!"

But seriously, it is a nice watch. Comfortable and functional.

Forget Luminox. They can keep their Navy SEALS sales pitch.

My Traser P6504 came yesterday. Nice...very nice.
