In the U.S. the right is red and the left is blue isn't that backward .
Also most all of the rest of the world got it right (mainly Europe).
Whats the roots of the U.S.A. colors, who started this?

It used to be the other way around.  It was change not to many elections ago by the media.  My guess would be because people were making that connection.

The colors came from the election maps that the main stream TV networks put up on election night.



Sometimes the democrat was blue sometimes the republican was blue.



During the 2000 election, Republicans were red.  The election was dead split even and the colors stuck.
