One of my employees just found out that his daughter was sexually molested by her uncle....mothers brother in law.

I did a search for him of the guy to see if he was already registered.....then I did a search for all predators in the area.

Oh my fucking sweet baby cheese and crackers......I didnt realize so many scumbags walk the earth. Not just walk the earth, but walk it with the full knowledge of the law and the citizens around them. I was looking at their convictions, lewd and lascivious behavior with a minor, sexual battery on a minor, sodomy with a minor.

What the hell has happened to us? Why do we tolerate this? How many times have we heard of recidivistic douchebags attacking and raping or killing children?

Having a seven month old daughter myself......I am going nuts with the thought of protecting her in this sick fucking world. Ive heard statistics that say as many as 3 in 5 girls are molested or otherwise sexually abused before adulthood.

Not my daughter Im fucking telling you....not mine!!

Just did a search for our area. One on our island, and it was some kind of peeping tom.voyeurism charge. The last place we lived the map lit up like a fucking Christmas tree with sprinkles on top of that bitch.

Not all sex offenders are created equal. For example, there is one in my church congregation –– a guy who about 10 years ago as a dumb 20 year-old had consensual sex with a 14-15 year old girl. I would trust him with my kids because it's clear by his current behavior that he's not a threat to them.

The ones you should worry about are the ones who:

1) Are currently on probation or parole for a recent offense;

2) Have repeat offenses;

3) Specifically targeted children under the age of 14;

4) Were convicted of violent felonies, not misdemeanors.

I don't really mind sex offender registries, but nowadays they are intended to humiliate people, not protect children.

I just found out a Marine I served with, knew very well, that is stayed at my house with my ex-wife while I was deployed... no they weren't fucking.

Just went to jail for LIFE for video taping little girls.

What's even more ironic is the ones who register and give accurate information are the ones who are least likely to re-offend.

The real predators do everything they can to avoid getting caught.

One of our local law enforcement agreed that percentage wise our county has more of these oxygen thieves than the whole state!
And some of my liberal co-workers wonder why I keep a loaded Glock on the night stand. And I don't even have kids!

My state includes enough info that you can figure out which you need to worry about, and which you don't, since you can see the date of conviction and the offense. A guy convicted of "relations with a 13-17 year old minor" at the age of 19 is different from one convicted of "sexual battery of a minor age 6-12" when he's 40 years old.

I know. I go round and round with some lib acquaintances over this one. You should see the look on their faces when I say I'd rather live right next door to one so I can keep an eye on him and always have him in my crosshairs.

The subtlety of being repsonsible for your children regardless of who your next door neighbor happens to be is completely lost on them.

One important thing is not merely if they're on the list, but what they are on the list FOR.

Public urination?

trying to pick up a hooker?

or something serious.

In many states this list is horribly abused to humiliate people for things that are no threat to the community.

In some places all it takes to get put on it is too much coffee and no available place to pee.

853 known sex offenders living in this county.

Total population of this county is 455,000.

That works out to 0.2%.

They use a "Tier" system.

Tier 1 are the least dangerous/least likely to re-offend.

Tier 3 are the most dangerous/most likely to re-offend.

Looked like most of them were Tier 1 and 2 from the list they had.

Use this link and sub your state should get you there I think it is required to be listed by each states I know it took me to ours by way of our state Police only have to use the side bar to locate the proper search when you get there .

Don't get too bent out of shape. There are very few actual baby fuckers out there. Most of those "sodomy on a child" convictions are a 18 to 20 year old banging a 15-17 year old. Many, and I do mean many sex crime convictions are pure BS, and most would have mystified our ancestors.

What's weird is the contradicting nature this country gives. It places a high value on beauty and sex, then goes off the deep end when some of it goes awry.

Truth. It's sickening. I remember one where the guy dated the mom to get access to the three daughters. Had sexual intercourse with all three as they passed thru his favored age range (11-13 years old) with mom's knowledge.

This went on for FIVE YEARS until the oldest daughter joined the military and managed to get out of the house, whereupon she filed a police report.
The bastard had been holding the lives of her two sisters over her head for that whole time.

His sentence? 5 years in prison, actually served 8 months, 4 years of home monitoring, He's a free man today. Mom was allowed to keep custody of the younger girls and was not prosecuted.

In some cases, I'd have to agree with your opinion. In most others, however, I fixed the above to reflect reality.

Totally agree with the above posters criticizing our bi-polar society which sexualizes kids (and our entire culture, really) in TV shows, movies, music, cartoons, etc and then you throw in alcohol in the mix (most convicts cite its influence as a contributing factor in their broken "decision making process") and we end up in a pretty bad situation. Also add the fact that most abuse happens by someone known to the victim, even family. One of the previous posts mentioned a "ex-wife's, brother-in-law" as the perp. This stuff gets even worse as the numbers of broken homes increase since step-fathers, and "mom's boyfriend" enter the home and get added to the mix of potential abusers.

Sad topic, really.

What I AM doing is pointing out that it doesn't take a whole lot to get on the list.

18 years old and pork a willing17 YO? Marked for life in some states.

Caught pissing behind a dumpster? Bam!

nailed in a 2 bit vice sting trying to pick up a 34 yo hooker? Pow!

The lists were probably started as an honest attempt to make people aware and protect our kids, which is noble, but in some areas the lists have degenerated, like most things do, to the point that it's used as way of humiliating people for deeds that are no real threat to society. That ain't right.
