My Dad took tons of pictures during WWII.  I brought home a big fat packet with 100s of pics in it.

I will sort through them and get them scanned into the computer.

Here are a few random ones I pulled out.  I scanned a couple a little crooked, I will rescan those.  He even wrote on the back of when and where these are taken.

June 1945, enroute to Kaufbeurn.

August 1945, Scheyern, Germany

May 1945, Hospital, Epinal, France

July, 1945 Aldrans Austria (My Dad is the one on the right)

June 1945, Enroute to Kaufbeurn

June 1945 Epinal, France Bridge Out

August 1945 Camp Dachau, Germany

I am sure I do not need to tell you this but make sure you take good care of those, and keep as much information as you can on the photos.  When you pass them down there can be a written copy with all the information.

Thank you for sharing.  I love seeing pictures like those.

It always amazes me when seeing photos of WWII. That our boys could take a photo of the utter hell and destruction of war, yet on the same roll of film photograph the few moments of joy they had while making the best of it. God bless them all !!!!!!!!

My FIL (84yo) has pics from Mathausen concentration camp when they liberated it. Old, turning-brown photographs with the scalloped edges. Bodies in stacks, then layed out with a white wooden marker on their chests before burial........

They didn't take SS prisoners.

Thanks for the pics!

I have a couple pics of one of my grandfathers in Lehti(spelling?), but literally nothing from the other one––he gathered up everything he'd sent home, including letters, and burned it after the war.
