The Brady Campaign just released their state report cards for 2001. My home state of Oklahoma scored a D- proving it is still a decent place to live. Sniff! I am so proud.

Notice how they never tell how they get & compare their "numbers"- must be a combination of fuzzy logic and new math- still, TN got a D+.

TN got a D+? Damn, I was hoping for a big, fat "F".

Congrats to Alabama, Idaho, Montana, Louisiana, Kentucky, Miane and Wyoming.

All with a good solid F

South Carolina ....a C-

I'm sorry, mom and dad. we will try harder.

Funny - NO ONE rates an A+ with these freaks. I wondering what an A+ looks like to them. Having THE (one and only) state gun under guard at Fort Knox????

Texas only got a D-. Maybe it's time to consider a move to Alabama or Wyoming.

On the filthy lying pages of the Brady Campaign website, some Neanderthal wrote:

In its fifth annual analysis of state laws protecting children from gun violence, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence united with the Million Mom March, and in partnership with independent state gun violence prevention groups, highlighted the progress made in its efforts to protect children from gun violence and noted an encouraging decrease in the number of children killed by guns. However, while some states have successfully strengthened their gun laws and blocked efforts by the gun lobby to weaken existing laws, a number of states continue to drag their feet on gun safety measures, putting children in danger.

Since their grades are based on protecting children, I expect that States with high grades will suffer no children killed.  On that same note, Montana and Wyoming will be juvenile bloodbaths.

Can someone please publish this, with actual crime stats for the general public?  If they read this, they may see that the Brady Campaign is simply full of idiots.

A D- just won`t do. As Texans we just have to try harder. I know we can do better. I want to see a solid F-- Next year.

I always thought that the Western US, not including California, was a bastion of conservative thought and common sense. But to see these idiots put a grading scale to it and prove it is really neat. It is great to live in a D- state!!

Huh, I figured GA would get lower than a D, what with being able to carry in your car and all.

Georgia Code 16-11-126. (d) This Code section shall not forbid any person who is not among those enumerated as ineligible for a license under Code Section 16-11-129 (CCW) from transporting a loaded firearm in any private passenger motor vehicle in an open manner and fully exposed to view or in the glove compartment, console, or similar compartment of the vehicle; provided, however, that any person in possession of a valid permit issued pursuant to Code Section 16-11-129 may carry a handgun in any location in a motor vehicle.

You know... Can someone complile this data in correlation with the crime rates for each of these states?  I would immagine that Alabama and Montana are pretty safe states, especially in comparison to a place like Baltimore, MD.  *shudder*

I think South Carolina got an unfair grade, and I plan to write to the Brady Bunch of Vegetables and complain.

I mean, consider this:

We have NO requirement for a pistol permit when buying from a private party.

We have shall issue concealed carry.

AND

We just legalized Class III.

What could be MORE child unfriendly than that?? [rolleyes]

I want a lower grade. I feel we earned it.

I wonder if there is an appeals process.

I can't comment on the appeals process since Oklahoma only received a "D-" there's still too much work to be done.

It was gratifying to see my home state of Alabama receiving a most deserving "F."

I realize the veggies put this crap out to spur on their faithful but I wonder if they realize just how much pleasure we derive from reading their reports in inverse order ??

I take NO pleasure in it. We in SC  were cheated. Whatta ya gotta do to impress these people?

Put toy guns in babies cribs at one day old?????

Train two year olds on AR's???? Give a Barrett 50 to every kid for their sixth birthday????

Geez, Brady fools. We are doin' the best we can.

But to get cheated out of our proper grade(AT LEAST a "D") is wrong. Just plain wrong.

Damn!!

Virginia only got a C-!!

With a Democreep Governor, there is no telling if we'll be able to get that grade down to a more acceptable D- or F.

Warner says he supports sportsmen and he got an A- rating from the NRA, but we all know just how stable the Democreeps are.

Don't want to rub it in...but the Caliban received an A-.  I'm thinking we deserved an A+, given the recent socialist democrat laws being passed.

so what do you think, should Ol' Red Davis kiss some Brady ass and protest the "-" grade?  I'm now proud to be under Caliban rule [V]

Alaska got a D-?  I have to bitch about that one.

Maybe Scott Ogan, my legiscritter, can help.  He was endorsed by the Anchorage Daily News (run by McClatchy out of S. California) during his first bid for office, so I still have my doubts about him.

So much for grades.  I haven't found another  population other than rural North Idaho that doesn't give a flying f*** about gun control.

Looking at their garbage criteria, I'd expect to see something like:

Jews:
A  No Jewish problem
C  Common sense Jew eradication program
F  None

That surprises you???  Glendening has been a "tool" (all possible connotations are acceptable) of the Brady crowd for years.  Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, Kathy Kennedy Townsend will help prove to you otherwise.

It kind of does.  When you compare us to Kali, or New Jersey, I think MD is not as bad.  It is bad, don't get me wrong...but do you know what they have to do to get a handgun in NJ?  And AWs are illegal in KA.

That new licensing bill will most likely pass, though (I'm sure you've heard about it).  This state is a lost cause.  There is no repairing it from the inside with the staggering amounts of anti-gun liberal HCI tools embedded in all levels of the MD government.

I live in CT. Prior to '93 (the year it passed its own strict AW ban), it was a very decent place to own firearms.

What I find interesting is Maine got an “F” while Vermont got a “D-.” What is up with that? Everyone needs a piece of paper to carry in Maine, but in VT all you need to be is over 21.

The ProMassholia got cheated!! We have effectively a handgun sales ban and we only got an “A-.” I’m pissed.
