This has been getting me more and more steamed each day.  We're sending $296 million in monetary aid to "rebuild" Afghanistan in 2002.  I'm really getting sick of the forced charity that the government imposes on us.  Hell, they should be paying us for the cost, both lives and money, that we spent to clean the Taliban out of their country.

I don't have a problem with people voluntarily sending money to a charity to be given to Afgh., but forcing this on American citizens is too much.  Our tax money should be paying for things that directly benefit us as a nation - military defense, law enforcement, highway system, etc.  Leave the charity work up to the charities.  [:(!]
