Didn't someone mention that we might need a theme song for AR15.com, well how about this little jewel by Weird Al Yankovic:

Trigger Happy

Got an AK-47, well you know it makes me feel all right
Got an Uzi by my pillow, helps me sleep a little better at night
There's no feeling any greater
Than to shoot first and ask questions later
Now I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day

Well you can't take my guns away, I got a
Constitutional right
Yeah, I gotta be ready if the commies attack us tonight
I'll blow their brains out with my Smith and Wesson
That out to teach 'em all a darn good lesson
Now I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day

CHORUS
Oh yeah, I'm trigger, trigger happy
Yes, I'm trigger, trigger happy
(Oh baby, I'm) trigger, trigger happy
Yes, I'm trigger, trigger happy
(Oh, I'm so) trigger, trigger happy
Yes, I'm trigger, trigger happy
Better watch out, punk, or I'm gonna have
To blow you away

Oh, I accidentally shot Daddy last night in the den
I mistook him in the dark for a drug-crazed Nazi again
Now why'd you have to get so mad?
It's just a lousy flesh wound, Dad
You know I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day

Oh, I still haven't figured out the safety on my rifle yet
Little Fluffy took a round, better take him to the vet
I filled that kitty cat so full of lead
We'll have to use him for a pencil instead
Well, I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day

CHORUS

Come on and grab your ammo
What have you got to lose?
We'll all get liquored up
And shoot at anything that moves

Got a brand new semi-automatic weapon with a laser sight
Oh, I'm prayin' somebody tries to break in here tonight
I alwaays keep a Magnum in my trunk
You better ask yourself, do you feel lucky, punk?
Because I'm trigger happy, trigger happy every day

CHORUS

-----------------------------------------------

Now, unless you've actually heard Weird Al perform this lively song, you cannot really appreciate the music-comedy genius behind the
lyrics. It has a 'Beach Boys' flavor to it!

Is this a new release by Weird AL Yankyourdick????

I wonder if such a public display of insanity would prevent Al from passing a CCW background check?????

This is just another example of the "50 year-long hate crime against gun owners", or an illustrating example that gun owners have lost their sense of humor because of it.

Now, ask yourselves - do YOU know anyone who resembles this song?  Hmm?

Stereotypes are funny because they're merely exaggerations of reality.

You have two choices - be offended that a comedian makes use of a stereotype to get a laugh, or laugh.  I choose to laugh.

(I love "Amish Paradise" - now THAT's stereotyping for comedic effect!  "If I finish my chores, and you finish thine - tonight we're gonna party like it's 1699!")

Edited to add:  Garandman???  "Yankyourdick"???  How...unChristian!

C'mon, guys.  Weird Al is funny as heck and you and your kids can actually sing along to his songs.

"Lasagna" sung to the tune "La Bamba" is a real gut-splitter.

Eric(TakesItInTheSpiritItWasIntended)Hun, what tune was this parody sung to?

I guess you guys are just deeper thinkers than I am.

When I hear a member of the Socialist elite ruling class make a libelous parody spreading damaging misinformation about firearms in general, and a non-existent gun culture that their ONLY response to is to pass more legislation like the 1994 Crime bill in DIRECT attack of my Second Amendment rights, I suppose I just don't have the "mental horsepower" to see the OBVIOUS humor in that.

Bear with me - my socialist re-education is not complete yet.

[rolleyes]

Who, exactly, takes Weird Al seriously enough to push for more strict laws in response to his songs?  I don't think he's ever done anything serious in his life.  People know it's parody.  In the movie "Top Secret" there's the song "Skeet Surfing" and accompanying video.  Is a reference to combining surfing and skeet shooting demeaning to us, in the context of a immature humor movie?  It's only offensive if you insist on taking offense where none was offerred.

Music and movies that aren't known for their humorous portrayal of everything are far more damaging to us.  Many people think action movies are the slightest bit realistic if the blood looks good.  None of them seem to ask themselves why machineguns are so prevalent in Hollywood, but quite uncommon in the real world.  Some people actually think that if you pull the trigger, the bullet will hit someone and they will die.  As if the gun just aims itself.  I was actually *surprised* to see some reasonable portrayal of firearms in "The Way of the Gun".  It's quite common for the laws of physics to be violated in movies many times over, but many more people know that Superman isn't really flying than know that you can't get 40 shots out of a revolver.

Who would actually sit and intentionally watch more than six consecutive seconds of Jerry Springer???

Who would vote for a presidential candidate because they had a "nice package?"

Answer: Far too many people. Never underestimate the stupidity of the sheeple. There is a whole segment of society getting their political and social "understanding" from Hollywood and the last two years of Grammy winners.

Its just another nail in the coffin, painting gun owners as insane shoot-em-up types.

yeah, I'm way too uptight. But if SOMEONE had stood up fifty years ago and took some of the crap shoveled on them personally, I might not have to pay $6,000 to be able to own an M16 today.

   Weird Al, is just that;.....Weird!!!
Anyone that takes Weird Al as being serious is also just that;.....Weird!!! Even the "sheeple"
must, for the most part, realize that Weird Al has never said "anything serious in his life".

I am with garandman on this one.  Having people tell you that you are a murderer and like to watch little kids die because you don't think all guns should be banned right now gets old.

I agree completely with you here.  I moved out of California because I was tired of being socially inferior to drug dealers, child molesters and terrorists.  However, I do think it's possible to use stereotypes for humor.  We make fun of the tin foil hat conspiracy theories here, even though we, as a group, are probably more paranoid than most.  Making fun of an extreme helps us laugh at ourselves.  Seriously, how many people would actually use an NFA weapon like an Uzi for home defense? You know, I've only heard it once! So I'm really not certain.

Sounds kinda like 'Surfin Safari' by the Beach Boys.

Sorta.

'But it has a good beat and it's easy to dance to, so I give it an 85, Mr. Clark!'

The majority of Yankovic listeners are kids aged 10 and under.  This is what they are listening to...this is the message they are getting.

What's the message?

It's funny to fiddle with guns?

Or, seriously, we can't let these sorts of people have access to weaponry even if their rights are guaranteed by the Bill of Rights?

'Did you read that part about the guy shooting his father and then laughing about it?'

Hey, I kinda like the sound of that surf and skeet thing.  Wonder if I could modify it to surf and tactical course...?

My father always taught me that guns were no laughing matter.

I take my gun ownership seriously and have invested a great deal of money to make sure my guns are secured properly so they never end up hurting  some innocent person. And I personally don't know of any gun owner that fits the image he is singing about. Boycott
