I love music, i like power, both in amps and fire. so after busting my ass at work i give you the start of the AR15.com Pioneer sound system.

Its almost all Pioneer and monster audio. It cost as much as my AR, it will rock a bone crushing 2400w all in a 2001 S-10. People will scream, babies will cry and clothes will fly off the women! ok the last bit was most likely false but its mad power none the less. Today i begin building the box for it all. So after all that i give you the birth of an audio monster!

3.2 F cap w silver AR15.com logo

Amps in boxes

Colt AR with my 2 12" Pioneer 1400W subs

Monster 400 1/0 gauge PowerFlex amp kit and 4" speakers

Enjoy the rest!

Do you use espresso or French Roast?

We have a grinder kinda like that, but it grinds too fine for french press.

YMMV

It's a power capacitor.

Now the OP needs to silkscreen a BFL on all the speaker cones.

I doubt he will be competing in sound competitions. Sounds like a decent sound system for an S10 to just, you know, listen to music while you drive.

Yeah, the 12W6 was the only woofer my brother didn't blow to hell and back in no time flat when he had his old 12 woofer monster.

They held up exceptionally well under very harsh conditions.

I imagine the 12W7 HAS to be really good, too.

HAHAHA...fuck Pioneer and JL. (Cept for Premier headunits.)

It's all about Digital Designs subs and quality monoblock amps that aren't rated at peak wattages. Also, you need at LEAST 1,400w per sub, Multiple subs is a waste of damn money unless trying to edge out every last db in competition. Single 15" is all you need, 12" if you don't have the room for a 5 cube box.

ETA: Oh yea, toss that boltface bandaid in the trash...or sell to some poor 16 y/o that doens't know better.

I'm running a JL e4300 as well as an a1400 on the stock original battery and electric system in my 2003 Honda. No issues as of yet.

If both amps draw that much current, you need an isolator and second battery.

Do you use the thermos for cooling the amps?

I remember back when I was in college the first time in about '92 or so. You'd see a car cruising around campus with the stereo boom-booming Vanilla Ice or whatever was cool back then. Then you'd see the same car a few days later with plastic taped over one of the windows, and not a sound to be heard.

pioneer makes great head units, their subs and amps not so much.  either way that's one hell of a ground wire you got there.

i used 4ga to ground my 1000.1 JL amp

If you have dimming headlights, you're taxing your electrical system too much.
The solution doesn't lie in a capacitor.

There really isn't much (if any) practical use for a storage capacitor in OP's system.

It's 2400 watts when lightning strikes it. Look at the fuses to get an idea of potential draw.

Good investment. When you get old enough to move out of mom's basement and get you a place, you should be able to sell the S-10 with stereo for about $800.00

high output alternators would do the trick as well, but based on the OP going with Pioneer (no flame intended) I don't think his budget has that in mind.
The big three could definately be done with a minimal budget.

Another school of thought, maybe his cap is for asthetics?
