As the title says, how much does your local gun range or favorite place to shoot charge you?
For me it is $12 for 3 hours. Now, I can fork over $250 or so and get a year membership, but then I'd still have to pay $6 for every range visit. And I doubt I will be shooting that much. This is an out door range with 25 and 100 yard targets. It is a nice place to learn to shoot, friendly people and all, but no rapid fire or anything. So it gets old and expensive if you're not into getting tight groups and only want to plink. I don't know of any local area that allows you to shoot for less either. Those of you who can find a free place to shoot like your backyard, you're lucky. |

$75 a year, and $2 for the pistol/rifle ranges for the day. If I choose to shoot skeet/trap it's $3 per round.

Range #1 $3 a day.
Range #2 $20 a year, no guests. Range #3 $36 a year, guest allowed. |
One is $100 a year and the other $90. I go whenever I want for as long as I want all year long.
$160 a year and I get a key to the front gate and I can go shooting anytime I want.

You're supposed to have a hunting license to use it. That's it.
An indoor range I used to go to was part of a gun store, and you got a free range session (up to 4 hours) every time you bought a gun. I never had to pay. Also, I own land and have a 25 and 50 yard range on that land. |
$25 a year for outdoor range with burms at 25, 50, and 100yds. Also has an area off to the side for skeet shooting.
$15 a day. I don't know if they have a membership option. They can charge a lot because they're the only public outdoor range around, and by "around", I mean you have to drive about 2 hours away to find another one.
$8 per person, until closing time.
Full auto rental is $40. You get about 2 targets each... bull's eye or silhouette. They're not really picky on targets. |
$45 a year, can shoot dawn till dusk, 2 100 yard rifle ranges and an indoor to outdoor pistol bay. You shoot indoors through windows.

I'm jealous. All the ranges around here are far more expensive. For example, a one year membership and the Hartford Gun Club is over $500. You get a lot for your money, but it's still $500. Other ranges are similar with less in the way of facilities. It definitely cuts down on how much I shoot.

I thought we would shoot enough to validate memberships as well....... then all this Obongo shit happened. Big waste of money.
2 minute ride and free and how ever many yards/meters you think you can hit.

Range 1 (pistol caliber only) $12/day
Range 2 (rifle/pistol/trap) $7 to get into the park, $15 more to get on to the range |
$0 for an indoor range..........on the 1st and 15th for military members.
10, 50 and 100 yrd outdoor ranges Skeet range with manual thrower $50/yr + required NRA membership. |
Recently sent in an application for a members-only range... dues are ~$100/year, but no other usage fees, and members can pretty much go whenever they want (aside from competitions and range cleanup/improvement days).
The weekly matches I shoot at a local indoor range (USPSA, IDPA, and bowling pins) are $10 each. Hourly rates at the same range are ~$12, IIRC. ETA - Oh yeah, I've started shooting shotguns again recently. $5 a round for either trap or skeet. And all three ranges are not even 20 minutes from me. |
Indoor range: $24 per hour for non members and $17 for members.
Outdoor range: $15 for the day for non members and $5 for members. |
Two outdoor national forest shooting ranges are free.
Indoor range at local gun store(gay ass ATP) is free as well due to my dept. paying them a shitload of money each year for us to be able to have training/qualification sessions there multiple times a year. |
140 dollars a year.
I can go to the range 365 days a year, but what's nice is that Monday and Tuesday it's closed to the public, only yearly members are can use it. |
Looks like I am not the only one who is stuck with expensive shooting areas.
I wish my local range would at least let me double tap. |
$45 a year, 100 and 200 yd rifle range, indoor pistol range, and a few nice skeet/trap/WTFever setups (those are $4 a round). No extra charges, you can have pistols on the rifle range, and class 3 is most definitely allowed.
$44 a year for the outdoor range. You can shoot all you want as long as you want no guests without a gust pass.
$44 fora one year guest pass if you want it. $75 Additional for a 1 year indoor range pass, if you want it. You can shoot as much as you want as long as you want. ETA: 5 minutes from my house. |
Indoor range is like 14 miles away and I think around $12 an hour. I choose my own personal range but accessibility sucks.
$30/year includes unlimited use of the public range (open on weekends) with 20 covered shooting positions with berms at 50 and 100yds and gongs from 200-450yds at 50 yd intervals.
$3.50/round for trap/skeet Matches at the highpower range w/pits and firing lines to 1000yds, they have regular .50BMG matches from the 1000yd line - typical fun match cost is $10 12 pistol bays with monthly practical pistol and cowboy matches, cost varies around $15 If you volunteer as a Range Officer you can get access to the public range/pistol bays/highpower any time you want ETA: 20 min from my house |
If I lived closer to TacPro it would be 200 a year or 15 a day per person
$5.50 for 2 hours at the state owned outdoor range. $10 for the indoor range I go to, they have moving targets for $15.
Outdoor range coverd 300meter high bore , coverd 50 meter small bore, pistol range. Organized shoots/comps every sunday
5 dollars a day per person. 70 dollars a year for family memberships 10 dollars per person for shoot competition 5 dollars for members |
$80 a year for the whole family.
$2.50 per round of trap/skeet No fee to use the rifle or pistol ranges. Rifle range out to 1,000 yards. These guys host periodic long-range and big-bore shooting meets. I shoot on Quantico MCB since it's only about 5 miles from my home. |
Indoor range here charges $200 a year and 10% off on ammo. There's an outdoor range complex here that people can use for free. It's got a skeet range, silhouette range, blackpowder range, 1000 yard range, and a couple of other general firearms ranges.
You know, one of things I don't get is people who go "ugh, $100-$200/year is so expensive...". (speaking from local response from certain individuals when I told them about the range I am joining)
$100/year is less than $10/month. $200/year is less than $20/month. The people bitching about the cost probably spend $10-$20 a week going out to eat (or similar expenses). And this is for ranges that offer extensive access, not something where you can only go once or twice a month. |
$50 per year and $2 per shooter per day. This is for a family of 4. Has pistol, rifle, trap, fishing pond, and a "Main Street" setup for cowboy action shooting.
There's one outdoor range near me that has something like a 2hr price....it's a takerment run range. And then there are several gun shops that have indoor pistol ranges. I know the guys that made them stop allowing shotgun usage in the range....
The 'best' outdoor range near me is $15 entrance fee, with no time limit.
There is also a "membership" option, but there's more than 20yr wait for a membership opening. |
2 much thats why i only shoot 8months out of a year. plus they make you buy their ammo! imagine prices now!

My local range which is 2 minutes away. is 100+ acres and on a major river, on a canal, and a quarry which is attached to the canal. For $75 (initial to join) or to renew its $10 per each thing ( fishing, shooting, boat launch), i get access to everything. Shooting range which includes seperate rifle, pistol and .22 ranges, have absolutely no rules except no alchohol. Archery Range, dozens of boat launches, and thousands of fishing spots. and all along their stocked canal. There is absolutely no supervision here, to get to the ranges you need to pass through a gate which everyone has a key to.
The state range is free of course, but many rules such as 3rd max per mag, only normal rounds (no tracers...) no shotgun at the rifle range. Have a seperate area for shooting clays its a huge space, enough for at least 30 people shooting at a time. Plus the place is 30 minutes away. The only supervision here is a couple people who drive up in their SUV every hour or so sit in their car and watch for 5 minutes and leave. I have no clue who they are since tehy never get out, and i never really cared to look at the markings on their vehicles. Bad part is i just learned about the local one =( |
Nothing! I have a 25-50 & 100 meter range off the covered back pourch. It is about 20 ft from the gun room to where we shoot. Yes we are SPOLIED but then living next to a mountain does that.
