Local fun shop has a new G19 for $530+tax a half hour down the road anther store has one for $545 and has a used G19 for $425

Is $530 pretty much the going rate for a G19 and should I save some $$$ and go used?

I would save the money and buy used with a glock....just my personal preference since it is my belief that there aren't a large number of problems with the guns and the vast majority of problems that do arise you can fix yourself with minimal effort. $120 is over 500 rounds of WWB...as such it's not worth the premium for the new gun (for me).

That price sounds about right, but with so many G-19's around, I'd certainly keep an eye out for a used one. It's not as though they're rare and like so many pistols, many are impulse buys that see little range time by novice shooters. I've done very well buying used in face to face transactions, YMMV.

$530 is about the going rate, NIB, around here.

You can sometimes find a "deal" online, but after shipping + transfer, it's a wash.

Were I in your shoes, I'd buy the used one after I had a good look at it.

I'm thinking of going used as well. I bought my P229 used and I've sent a shit load of .40's down range with it. For 5 faithful years it hasn't let me down yet.

If you are eligible for their "Individual Officer" price (LEO, military, I think even EMS and FD) . . . a NIB G19 w/ fixed sights runs $398!!! I think they limit you to 2, though.

I called Glock's Customer Service Desk at (770) 432-1202, to have them send me the form and price sheet. They sent faxed it w/in 10 minutes!

And even if you don't qualify, you can join GSSF and get a certificate that lets you buy one at LEO pricing.

I do want a 1911, some day. I love my G21sf. However, finding ammo to feed a .45 is a problem. I've shot nearly all of my stockpiled rounds that I bought over the course of two years, and what I have now can not sustain my current training regimen.

Getting a G19 solves a few problems. First, it is a nimble gun that I can CCW in place of my aging SIG. Second, it is a good weapon that I can trust my wife with to be able use should she need it. And last, shooting it is damn cheap.

I do really want a mi-spec OD Green Springfield though.......

Why buy new when used will do?
Its not like its a case colored SSA where the finish is a deciding factor.........its a Glock.

If it looked taken care of and had acceptable wear, I'd buy it.

If you have a LEO dealer in your area, why not just do the GSSF deal? under $400 for a new G19 is hard to beat...same price as the used one if you figure in the GSSF membership fee.

I bought a used 19 that I don't think had a box of rounds through it.
I also got a 30 that still had the factory copper grease on the slide.

Used doesn't mean abused. Just take your time.

Yeah, that's odd. Without standard-cap mags, $425 doesn't seem like a good a deal, since new mags will be $25-$30 each.

New in box here are $500-520. If you want the NIB Glock I would show up with $550 in cash and take it or leave it personally. The FFL is still making close to $100 so if he is remotely intelligent and wants some $$$$$$, just my opinion.

I'd go used. There isnt too much to break, and parts are cheap. Manuals are available online.

Called the factory four days ago to get the official agency price for a letterhead agency (not individual officer) price. Per the LE rep, whether you buy on or one thousand, the agency price for a standard Glock 19 w/ the plastic sights = $362. The price with the factory steel sights = $387.

Bought it!

I got the used 19. Damn thing looks like it has never been fired. It still has the copper lube from the factory. Feed ramp clean, so is the barrel. FCG and mag well have no hint of seeing any rounds down range.

I'm happy.

What makes me even happier is buying 150 rounds of ammo for only $28. I can't buy 100 of .45s anywhere close to that.
