winchester 1895 in .405 winchester.
he used that when he wasn't using his spectacular Holland & Holland double rifle.

Just thought that the article would be worth the read and trying to help.  For some reason the link function wants to add a second http: to the address.  I am sure someone smarter knows why.

as posted above, Teddy has a Winchester 1895,

designed by none other than JOHN MOSES BROWNING, the 1895 saw some service with the US Army during the Span-Am War. The majority of the 1895s were chambered in 7.62x54mmR and were built for the Czarist Russian Army during WWI.
