Interesting, it says they started work on it again. I thought I read that there are numerous construction defects that would prevent them from completing it?
|
|
that was a creepy vid.
you think construction defects will stop them from building their giant supertapeodoubledong missile silo? |
|
the end of the article kind of made it sound like it was just a face lift. Make the exterior look good...

Ha! I blew that fucker up in Mercenaries on Xbox. |

Commies don't give a damn if something they build actually works or is safe. It's all about the symbolism, just like their idiot counterparts here in the USA. |

The "soundtrack" on that video was incredibly annoying. Best to watch it muted.

How much to get that puppy shipped to my back yard. I could spend a month shooting its windows out.

Go ahead Pyongyang, put all your damn antennas on that thing.
It'll make a great target |

Ironicly, that video is as strange as the rest of the country.

isn't that entire city just a sham? like last thing I saw it was to make the SK's look over the boarder and be like damn I wish I lived there but the whole place is fake.
|
|
They should turn that place into the world's biggest Paint Ball facility.

Wouldn't 7 restaurants imply the presence of food? This is North Korea we're talking about, after all.

I wouldn't go near that buliding. If more than 5 people sneaze at the same time in the lobby, the thing would fall down.
I wouldn't trust their "engineering" at all. I remember doing a structural inspection in South Korea. Foundation was cracking. Upon closer inspection, we found one structural wall in particular that was crumbling. I whacked it with a hammer and found that the wall was filled with empty coffee cans. A structural wall filled with empty coffee cans and skimmed over with a cement wash. I took three pictures and evactuated the building. We notified the building and when we came back for a follow up inspection, the wall was covered up with a CMU wall infront of it. I whacked it with a hammer and the cell of the block broke open. The darn thing wasn't even filled with grout. The building manager that was with us was furious, not at the crappy work, but at me for breaking the wall and yelled at us until we left. They sent us a letter stating that we damaged the building and demanded that we give them a new building. The next year, it fell down in a 0..01 magnatude earthquake or something. |

You're thinking of the "Propaganda village". It's just over the boarder with nothing but a giant flag poll and a sound system blaring North Korean propaganda (in English) from empty shells made to look like inhabited buildings. Though from what i understand if you go on any of the tours into NK the cities may as well be fake. They are 100% guided making sure the areas the tourists visit are completely deserted and forbid any contact with the locals. |

Looks like a good place to put that giant eye made of fire I picked up last week...

Even though the hotel dominates the Pyongyang skyline, it was nearly impossible to get anyone to talk about it. Former CNN reporter Mike Chinoy likened it to the giant calcium deposit on the neck of late dictator Kim Il-sung.
"What's that thing on your neck?" "What thing? There is nothing on my neck. I am a living god, perfect in every way - THERE IS NOTHING ON MY NECK!!!!!" |

It's only the civilians in the country who try to produce food that suffer from a lack of it. It's all confiscated by the government for redistribution. |

I thought that thing was in the process of a slow collapse. Something about not using enough steel and substandard concrete?
