McKinzie arrived at the Wal-Mart and ensured that his family member was secure. He then went in search of the man who made the threats. When searching throughout the store, McKinzie displayed his firearm to shoppers, resulting in a number of calls to the Bryan Police Department. Bryan Police arrived shortly after the calls were made and arrested the 48-year-old. He was charged with disorderly conduct for displaying a firearm in a public place in a manner which calculated an alarm. The man who initally made the threats was never found. I called a friend with a business in Somerville to find out why McKinzie was suspended. According to him, there was two reasons, the public and the real reason. The public reason was McKinzie responded to a call in Independence, over 15 miles away in another county, but the real reason was he waved his gun around too much.  True or not, who knows but this is what I was told.
