Genesee County Prosecutor David S. Leyton says the majority of people licensed to carry concealed weapons are law-abiding citizens.
Meet the exception to the rule.
A man was buying bags of salt at a Mundy Township store when he asked another shopper to move his car out of the fire lane.
The driver took offense to the request and allegedly pulled out a pistol, pointed it at him and told him to beat it.
State police arrested the suspect inside the store and found him with both his loaded pistol and his CCW permit.
The 66-year-old told police that he had pulled out the gun but only because he felt threatened by the other man who he said was bigger and younger.
The victim, by the way, was 69.
The gunman was charged with felony assault and has had his CCW suspended pending the outcome of the case.
