Anyone else watch the series' on The History Channel, "UFO Hunters." I'm watching an episode about Area 51. It is interesting for sure, but all about ratings for the TV show. I wonder if the so called "Cammo Dudes." Wackenhut right? Are like Jesus Christ, Base we got another UFO Hunter out here. I'll be waiting for them to do something stupid?

I can't speak to Area 51, except to say I don't believe it is anything other than a location used to test advanced concept aircraft (just my opinion).
I do remember an incident at another base back when I was in the Air Force, in which some "peace demonstrators" broke through some chain link fences on the base perimeter. There were nuclear weapons stored at this particular base, not far from where the intrusion took place. The "peace demonstrators" got to see what the wrong end of several loaded M-16s looked like, pretty damn quick . ETA: Actually they might have been GAU-5s instead of M-16s. Whatever the SPs were carrying anyway. |

I wonder if Wackenhut guys are paid good? I would love to hear it on the scanner though, the comms between Wackenhut guys. "God Damn, we got us another UFO Hunter. "Dumb Ass Mo-Fos" "Ill go get em out of here. LMFAO |

My guess is, as soon as the name Area 51 became common knowledge, the majority of really secret operations were moved elsewhere and Area 51 became a decoy.

I'd be willing to bet if they had ufos, they'd hide them where ufo dumbasses would think, like langley or something...

I own a 5 acres place in Rachel NV, the town famous for being closest to Area 51. The guards used to try and intimidate tourists that were on BLM land just outside the restricted zone but now most know they have no power on BLM land and they don't bother anyone any longer. The signs say no photography but you can click all day long as long as you are not past the border. Passing the border gets you arrested and the Lincoln County Sheriff comes to pick you up, you also get a $600 fine for the effort.
The days before GPS they used to move the restricted signs onto BLM land just to screw with people. |

They have been building like crazy at Area 51, new hangers going up and alot of construction. All of it can be seen from new satellite images that some groups pay the Russians to take for them. There is one such 0.5m resolution image that is about to be taken once Dreamland Resort gets enough people to chip in for it. If you look at that link you can see the 2007 image. |

History channel used to be a good place to stop the remote on......lately it's become more of a Jerry Springer type broadcast channel.....all smoke and mirrors and bullshit stuff.
Little to no real history. |

I took HiramRanger out there a few years ago, he was freaking out as we got close to the border. It was pretty damn funny. |

Perhaps would you be willing to escort me around, if you are around at the time? |

Great, I always thought it would be sweet to live in LV, but I guess the tourists would get irritating. How exactly do you get gas in Rachael, from what I understand they don't have a fuel center? If possible could you post some pics of the area, if you happen to have any? IM if you want. |

Theres a gas station a little while past Rachel if I remember.
|

All the stuff supposedly got moved out of Area 51 to Utah, someplace around the Dugway Proving Grounds.(?).
Hell, who knows for sure. |

Area 51 is real, I don't know about UFOs but they have some mighty fine gun parts for sale.

There used to be gas in Rachel and it is a long story why there isn't anymore but the nearest gas is about 50 miles away from Rachel coming from Vegas so we always fill up there and keep heading on when we go out there. Land is still cheap in Rachel, 5 acre plots can be bought for about 7-8k when someone decides to sell. It has taken me 10 years but the land is paid for, my electric is in, well and septic are in and now I'm trying to figure out what I'm gonna do for a "house". Possibly a construction trailer. Here is the sign on Hwy 375 just by Rachel. http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/5181/img1914631cj7.jpg Coming into town http://img225.imageshack.us/img225/5377/img1922711sg0.jpg My shipping container http://img66.imageshack.us/img66/3175/img1330131to4.jpg View from Rachel....wide open desert out there http://img162.imageshack.us/img162/7954/1131345imgvw9.jpg http://img187.imageshack.us/img187/1240/1131349imgtg3.jpg http://img144.imageshack.us/img144/346/1131350imgrt2.jpg My niece Alex with her dad on Hwy 375 on the cover of Concealed Carry Magazine (I took the pic) http://img79.imageshack.us/img79/5978/tonyandalex27xk.jpg If possible could you IM me specifics on how you went about purchasing the land? Was it a local process or online? As well as the cost to have everything put in? I wonder if you could do a semi underground home? Furthermore, have you ever looked at building your own home? It is pretty easy, once you have the concrete laid, which might cost a bit. Frame up the timbers, and then you are off. I don't know about your coding or whatever, but if I come through the way next year I could perhaps help you get her built, and electrical and plumbing put in, and roofing siding etc. depending upon what you want to do, and how much time I have. Anyways let me know. |

I work at one of the closest locations to Area 51 (Creech AFB, NV), and I have never seen anything that can not be explained.

Merlin, no I didn't get that container moved but I will soon. 2 weekends ago I just got my sub-panel in and now actually can use my electricity. The well gets hooked up to it on the 20th so then I'll have my water....we completely gutted my 1966 Winnebago and are about to seal everything inside and then do the entire inside in knotty pine wood and install air conditioning, should look awesome. I'll post pics of everything in the coming weeks.

Does Mercury have residents? Any pics of said area? So largely the back entrance to Area 51 is the most known and watched, well the front is the one into the test zone right? Any more pics of this area?

if you fly from phoenix into Burbank you cross the very bottom of Area 51 as part of the flight path, thats what the pilot says anyway.
51 was good for testing planes and hiding stolen technology during the cold war |

You're building a SHTF/bugout location on the edge of Area 51? That's either genius or....not. |

security is EG&G
As part of a lawsuit filed, very small parts of the security manual had to be declassified a while back... the lawsuit had to deal with the fact that there was illegal burning of chemicals going on out there and some workers got sick.... this was during the clinton years i believe... ask on dreamlandresort, they know everything. shade |

I wonder if Wackenhut guys are paid good? Wackenhut is no longer Wackenhut. It is now Group 4 Securicor. The Wackenhut name went away this June. As per standard .Gov contracts regarding security at this level, I would surmise upwards of $25/hr is what they are making. The G4S guys on the USCBP transport contract are making $24/hr. I know a guy that claimed to have worked out there and he stated the pay rate was in excess of $90/hr, but then again he also claimed to have HALO'd out of a Blackhawk, that his DD214 was so secret Bush had to call him on the phone just to get a look at it, and he was on a 72hr alert to "prep his team and stabilize Iraq". Said individual also let it be know that his MOS had been "tac-ops". He's a bout 5'4"/250, rides a Harley and claims to have worked for "Blackhawk" in Iraq. There are a few and I mean a FEW actual high speed dudes working for G4S but the vast majority are....meh. Sounds like a real ba, that is the worst lie I have ever heard and I knew a teacher who claimed to be a marine, a gang officer, actor, singer, play writer, model and a few other things I asked for dates and they didn't correspond with his age around 50 I think. http://www.dallasnews.com/sharedcontent/dws/img/02-07/0219altar.jpg |

Any more pics of this area? More pics of the Mercury area are shown below. Mercury is on the south side of the Nevada Test Site and is the main entrance into the Test Site. You travel north and then NE through the Site to get to Area 51, you can follow the road on Google Earth. Mercury used to be a bustling town when the NTS was testing nukes, I doubt more than a couple hundred, if that, live there now. Most workers on the Test Site come in via buses from Las Vegas.
