Added up what I have put into guns and magazines.  I started buying 5 years ago and have spent 7k.  I am not suprised or worried about it.  I plan on multiplying that number many times over.  That is all.

I read ARFCOM, I'm hoping to pick up the HDLS skills by osmosis.

Yep––that's the way to look at it. When most people look at insuring items they normally just look at their firearms. You need to add in the mags and ammo and accessories (scopes, extra handguards or rails, slings, cleaning gear, gun-related tools, targets, target stands, etc.) when you figure it out. In other words––how much would it take you to replace everything you have shooting-related?

That averages out to a little over $100/month.  I hope that doesn't include what you spent on ammo.

I got my first AR a few years ago, but had to sell it when I went ot college, still stayed on the site and when I finally got a good job when I was a junior (beginning of 2008) I started buying guns again and got my ccw. Currently still in school, graduate this fall.

I work full time, and since the beginning of 2008 ive spent around $8k-$10k. I only make $20k-$25k a year. Shows where my priorities are lol.

Wow, never looked at it before. Half the money I made last year I spent on Guns, ammuniton, mags, and accessories. Hahaha I dont have debt and so fuck it.

I spent 16,000 last year (Jan 08 to Dec 08) and have spend about 6500 this year.  (prior to that I hadn't bought a new gun in over a decade)

I spent 2/3 of all my income from my second job on guns and gun related items last year (made 24k gross, spent 16k)

I tend to go overboard sometimes..
