National Organizations With Anti-Gun Policies The following organizations have lent monetary, grassroots or some other type of direct support to anti-gun organizations. In many instances, these organizations lent their name in support of specific campaigns to pass anti-gun legislation such as the March 1995 HCI "Campaign to Protect Sane Gun Laws." Many of these organizations were listed as "Campaign Partners," for having pledged to fight any efforts to repeal the Brady Act and the Clinton "assault weapons" ban. All have officially endorsed anti-gun positions. 20/20 Vision AFL-CIO American Academy of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry American Academy of Child & Adolescent Psychiatry American Academy of Pediatrics American Academy of Ambulatory Care Nursing American Academy of Pediatrics American Alliance for Rights and Responsibilities American Association of Retired Persons American Association of School Administrators American Association for the Surgery of Trauma American Association for World Health American Association of Neurological Surgeons American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences American Bar Association American Civil Liberties Union American Counseling Association American Ethical Union American Federation of Teachers American Firearms Association American Jewish Committee American Jewish Congress American Medical Association American Medical Women's Association American Medical Student Association American Nurses Association American Psychological Association American Public Health Association American Trauma Society Americans for Democratic Action Anti-Defamation League Association of American Medical Colleges B'nai B'rith Black Mental Health Alliance Central Conference of American Rabbis Children s Defense Fund Church of the Brethren Coalition for Peace Action Coalition to Stop Gun Violence College Democrats of America Committee for the Study of Handgun Misuse & World Peace Common Cause Congress of National Black Churches, Inc. It's amazing how many of these anti-gun actors, et al, have no qualms about accepting roles in movies that portray gun violence beyond the bounds of reason and propriety. I guess that's what you might term "moral flexibility".

Geez, maybe it would be easier to just list those who are pro-gun.
Are there any lists of alternatives to the above? |
|
Herbert Block, cartoonist icon of the left, is DEAD!
I just get a kick out of that! |
|
why don't we boycott this hollywood BS for say 6months. No one go to any movies or rent any videos for say 6months. Get the NRA members to drop the BS newspaper subscriptions
Money talks, look at K mart. If you think about it, why would anyone really listen to someone who PRETENDS TO BE SOMETHING THEIR NOT FOR A LIVEING? Isn't that what acting IS ????? JB |
|
I always new Bon Jovi was a wimp.
I didn't see anything there that I actually support. Might have missed one or two though. Long list! |

Quoted: Herbert Block, cartoonist icon of the left, is DEAD! I just get a kick out of that! View Quote He wasn't when the list was compiled in 2000, as you can see at the end of that list. Anybody care to update the list, be my guest- and feel free to add anyone else not listed. It seems almost a prerequisite to be anti-gun to make it in the media, doesn't it? |
|
I saw that State Farm insurance was left off the list, they're anti. Also Jay Leno is anti.
Kinda surprising on Bruce Springsteen as he sings about shooting his tv set with a 44mag in the song "57 channels & nothing on". Of course we all know Hanoi Jane has a carry permit. As the other's say, it might've been easier to list the pro's. |
|
Hollywood morons always have had their own special brand of hypocritical morality. "Oh, guns are evil(except when use to make me a pile of money)" Personally, I haven't gone to see a movie in quite some time. This list is good. If I know a company, business or individual is anti-gun, I won't give them a dime.

I cried when I saw Jennifer Connelly on that list. I've been a fan of her movies since I was 8 and a fan of her tits since I was 12. Damn it!!

Helen Hunt? Please say it isn't true!
Dennis Quaid? Shania Twain? STOP WITH THE LISTS! THEY ARE MAKING ME [puke] |

I first saw Helen Hunt on a TV movie oh, 20 odd years ago. It was called "Quarterback Princess."
I wasn't even a teenager then but had the hots for her ever since. Doggone it. Fvckn' libs gotta fvck everything up. |

It would be interesting to see how anti these people really are. It is my estimation that most hollywood figures are flakes, they probably just latched onto a fashionable cause. Free Tibet dude! Someone commented on the moral flexibility of these people who produce gun filled movies. I definitely agree. The most verbal people are usually the biggest hypocrites. Look are Rosie and her gun toting body guards...
|
|
What's the deal with the American Firearms Association? Unless they are some smokescreen that the bleedinghearts made up, I would think that they would be pro-gun.
I'm sure more than half of these self righteous pricks own guns or have bodyguards who carry guns to protect them. It's ok for them to trash the 2nd amendment because anybody who would want to own and shoot a gun is a psychopathic killer, but when anybody merely mentions putting stricter controls on what goes on TV when, they scream about how their first amendment rights are being violated. After all, pumping kids full of tv shows and movies glorifying sex, violence, drug use, and any other moral depravity has no influence on them. These pricks think that they are performing a great public service by making movies for us. They have god knows how many awards shows (Grammys, Golden Globes, Emmys, People's Choice, MTV, etc., etc.) every year to pat each other on the back as if they have done some great service for the community and country. Most of them have utter disdain for the real heroes who actually deserve to be recognized like the military, police, firefighters, etc who bust their ass, suffer, and sacrifice every day doing their jobs. Sorry, I got off a little off track. My girlfriend just made me watch some of the bullsh*t that is the Golden Globe Awards, so I am still a little ripped over that. |
|
thats a really long list. are there any friendlies out there??
|
|
Probably most Hollywood types who jump on the anti-gun bandwagon don't see/care about the consequences, as the "crusade" of "getting rid of guns" gives them a feeling of self-worth that helps to expunge the general feeling of sliminess show biz one needs and engenders in order to succeed in the biz. Of course, if one's bosses (Geffen, Weinstein, Katzenberg, Spielberg, et al) are all stone liberals, it's also a form of sucking up to the boss....[rolleyes]
......................... [The TV show "West Wing" strives to] present a very balanced view of an issue, to present both sides.
