The Rev (?, PLEASE) Al  (that's okay little girl just lie about being attacked by those men)Sharpton came to the north Gulf Coast last night and it was such a non-event that they had to make up "death-threat" claims to generate any media interest.  The claims, based on a single call and "several hang-ups on an answering machine" of a sponsering group at least got Sharpton a little attention.  Very little.  In a local news story there is a mention of the possibility that Sharpton will run for the White House in 2004.  And that he was escorted by a police dog to an airport restroom.  Hummm, does this man have any credibility?

BeachBoy,
when I compare Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson to Martin King as leaders there is no comparison.

I can only think of dwarfs standing in the shadow of a giant.

(Does not matter wnat anyone thinks of MLK - the current crowd just does not measure-up.)

I agree. I feel IMHO that they generate more negative reaction than support across racial lines.

They're professional agitators- if they didn't fuel the divisiveness, they'd have to get *real* jobs.  Ever wonder how they pay their bills?  Where exactly *do* their incomes come from, anyway?

I'd LOVE to see Al's or Jesse's tax return.

apparently and increasingly from large businesses such as the NYSE and Toyota.

I believe The Reverend J. Jackson also supplements his income by teaching a graduate level course in extortion at Mafia University.

Some once said about Jessa Jackson, "Why is he always part of the problem and not the solution." I could not agree with him more and this statement could be said about this Sharpton clown too.

Yep --remember the days of him busing in homeless people from NYC with food and used clothes and a busride as payment to stage "spontainous" demonstrations in Newburgh and Poughkeepsie--Hey Hey Hey -fat Al Sharpton!

I saw his sound byte yesterday on the steps of MLK HS in Manhattan:
"this school
has a great violence intervention program
Which I have spoked at....."
(no lie direct quote on the "spoked at") MLK and Malcom X would both spin in thier graves to see the state of Black leadership and youth in this country after all they went through to acheive civil rights and respect for thier people in the 60's. Al Sharpton is but one shining example.

Yup Offctr i remember all to well. I think the worse part of this whole travisty was when fat al tried to link it to the Fishkill town cop that committed suicide, like his friends and family were not suffering enough,  and lets not forget the remainder of the 3 stooges - Mason and Maddux, it nice to see that S. Pagones is finaly collecting the money he sued these 3 scumbags for.

From shakedowns and other mafia-like extortion scams.

"Reverend Al, you grab his arms, and I'll go through his pockets for the donation."

So how do they get paid? By the *job*?  Do they have some accountants paying their bills, and is the money they "collect" taxable?

Unfortunately, as TV preachers and politics have shown us, there's no shortage of idiots willing to be sucked dry by these parasites.

D.S.,
I was serious about big business and of course joking about Mafia U.

Jackson  just shook down Toyota to the tune of about 700 million and the New York Stock Exchange folks are and have been long time contributors.

The funds collected(?) are received through "Non Profit" corporations.  The tax returns required by non-profits look nothing like our personal returns nor any business return we've ever seen.

Itemization is required only in the event of a government audit.

Sad, and extortion seems to be about right!
