Hey guys, yea, I'm begging for money. Yes, I'm new here
(under 80 posts) but like many old guys here say, post count isn't everything
:)

So anyways, my name is Jordan Finney and I live in San Diego, California (God
the AR laws are terrible out here!). I'm in the process of building my first
AR-15 (all the parts are here except the CMMG 16" upper) and have really
learned a lot from this site. I value the resources here and hope to remain a
member for the duration of my BRD treatment (It's not going so well, could be
delayed indefinitely, it's apparently a very hard disease to cure). But that's
really not what I'm posting this for; you can learn anything you want about me
if you really care in other threads :)
I have received the unique opportunity to attended a missions trip with Project
Compassion (http://projectcompassion.org/futuretrips.php?trip_number=4)
and a friend of mine (more of a mentor, he's much older than I am) from my
church (http://www.wpcescondido.net/tp40/Default.asp?ID=161687)
Westminster Presbyterian.
The trip involves approx 1.5 weeks of clinic work where we will treat on
average 250-300 people per day of the local villages. The final 3 days will be
a Safari in Kenya on a wild life reserve. I am incredibly excited to attended
this trip and feel led by God to do so. The trip costs $4,450 total and we
leave July 24th and return on or around August 5th.
This is where you come in and have the opportunity to personally affect this
trip and my life. This isn't the first trip I've been on so I'm not new to the
whole difficult process of gathering funds. In 2007 I went to Nicaragua for a
week and worked on a coffee plantation ministering to the local people and I
have been to Mexico with YWAM (youth with a mission) no less than 6 times to
build houses. I understand the uncertainty of donating to a complete stranger
and I understand the current finical situation of many limits their ability to
give. But I am humbly asking you for whatever you can spare. Anything, it
doesn't even have to be monetary.
I especially need prayer, even more so than money, as I feel God will provide
and the simple idea of people I don't know praying for this trip and me is
powerful enough! But any monetary contribution you can make would be extremely
helpful.
If you need any more information or want more proof as to the legitimacy of
this trip and my need, please feel free to IM me or email me. I plan on taking
many pics and updating this thread (if it still exists when I come back) with
them when I return. In the end, it comes down to God. I feel he will lead you
to donate or not donate and you'll just have to rely on your gut feeling about
this. But please don't hesitate to contact me!
Anyways, if you are willing to contribute, you can send a check, MO, cash,
whatever to my church and the stated intention that it goes to the Project
Compassion Uganda Trip Fund for Jordan Finney

Please make checks payable to WPC Escondido
Here is the address:

And now I blade at 45 to narrowly avoid the criticism of my low post count

If it isn't a private matter for you, please IM me or post here with how much
you donated or just if you did so I can get a rough estimate of how much I have
and don't have.
If you wish to contribute in a less direct monetary way, please let me know,
there are several items I need, like size 13 desert boots and medical scrubs.
On behalf of Project Compassion and Myself, I humbly thank ARFCOM for maintaining
the incredible attention span needed to read this :)
Thanks,
Jordan
