Use a high intensity light at floor level, you can see it's shadow better that way, you'll find it.
 Dogs don't eat metal.

I'm gonna bust out the surefire and go searching, but i'm worried it may not be recovered. My gun room is kind of packed right now and there's a million things for it to roll under. |

my little bastage has eaten a number of things. A couple pairs of my favorite shoes, an ERGO grip, and an entire bottle of Robitussin to name some.

Use a magnet. I use a magnetic probe to find small steel parts.

ETA - I've never shown him, his breeder likes to show him though. I'm not into dog shows. I do use him for stud though, and he's pretty in demand for being an ugly mutt.
