Was putting together a lower, about to add my MIAD, put the spring down on my bench and it rolled off. I didn't notice, both dogs were in the room screwing around near my feat. I pop the core out of the MIAD and go to put the spring back in, it's nowhere to be found. FUCK. Both dogs look guilty. I made fun of my friend for losing a spring before, now i'm guilty.

If it isn't digested, you'll have an opportunity to retrieve it.

Use a high intensity light at floor level, you can see it's shadow better that way, you'll find it. Dogs don't eat metal.

You haven't met my dogs. I'm gonna bust out the surefire and go searching, but i'm worried it may not be recovered. My gun room is kind of packed right now and there's a million things for it to roll under.

my little bastage has eaten a number of things. A couple pairs of my favorite shoes, an ERGO grip, and an entire bottle of Robitussin to name some.

Use a magnet.  I use a magnetic probe to find small steel parts.

Nah, he is just detained (rimshot).

There is a useable replacement in every disposable butane lighter.
.  Works until the replacement comes in.  Just trim to length with diagonal cutting pliers/Dremel cut off wheel/etc.

That's a 3500 dollar champion English bulldog sadly.

ETA - I've never shown him, his breeder likes to show him though. I'm not into dog shows. I do use him for stud though, and he's pretty in demand for being an ugly mutt.
