I want the complete upper, but I don't know which brand to get, or where to find it. Maybe my search fu is weak, but I couldn't find one on the EE, much less some other site.

Which brand is the most reliable?

I could not be more pleased with my .22 upper from Spike's.....this thing goes with me everytime I shoot. Indoor and outdoor,it is great to shoot an AR and not break the bank.

I like my TacSol but lots of others like Spikes, CMMG and others are fantastic as well.

You can look further here.

I bought a complete CMMG upper...and returned it.  It refused to function with CCI and Fed bulk.

I've heard nothing but great about Spikes.  If I try again it will be that unit.

I will add that the Spike's upper is kinda picky about ammo, but mine eats that Fed bulk pack like candy. I clean it about every 550 rounds or so.
You will not regret buying one of these...(I held off on another pistol to get mine and I shoot it more than any handgun I own)....way too much fun.

Spikes, i've been considering one. My friends has been flawless, I can't say the same about my ciener kit.

Something about the barrel twist on a 5.56 barrel making them inaccurate. That, and I have an Adams Arms piston kit on mine. Not sure how that's going to work on a .22 kit. I guess I should ask huh?

I just got a Spikes conversion kit. I will post an AAR on how accurate it is in my 1:7 twist barrels when I get a chance to take it out.

Does anyone know how accurate these conversion kits are witha  1:9 barrel? I've got it all in the cart and I'm ready to pull the trigger.
I just want to make sure it's not going to be minute-of-buick

I've got a Spike's ST22 complete upper and I love it, for all of the reasons posted above.  I have put a couple thousand rounds through it so far and it has paid for itself already.
