I just spent the last 40 minutes getting range bag and guns ready to go shooting this weekend.
I had to decide what guns i wanted to shoot, make sure i had ammo in correct calibers, targets, ear plugs, correct mags for said weapons..... Then try to stuff all that into cases and range bag Kinda like women getting ready to go out for the evening 
They have to accessorize their outfit..... |

If I know what i'm going to shoot, then about 30 minutes. If I have to try and decide what to pick, it could be up to an hour

Maybe 20 to 30 minutes the morning I go. I've usually made up my mind which guns are going and get the ammo for them put into my ammo bag the day before, so it's just a matter of getting them out of the safe and getting them cased and loaded with my range bags in the vehicle.

i usually get all my stuff ready the night before. i leave all my rifle cases and shooting bags by the front door, so i can just "grab-n-go" in the morning.

There are no ranges that I would go to close so when I go it is a big to-do. Course that means I don't go shooting as much as I would like.
It takes at least an hour to load up and that is if I'm hurrying. Usually 1.5 to 2 if I'm taking my time and not forgetting anything. It's the cleaning part that I HATE.

The targets, bench bags, hearing protection, etc. stays in the car all the time. To gather guns, ammo and the range box maybe takes 5 to 10 minutes.

It takes a while, probably 30 min. ,or should I say it takes my son a while. I say were going shooting , get everthing ready and he does the work
 . So I guess it only take me about 10 seconds.

Grab mags, targets, stapler, eyes, and ears and throw in range bag.
Grab guns and put in cases. Put in car/truck. About 10 minutes max, really. |

Excellent question. Sometimes I think "oh, its going to take too long so forget it". This coming from a guy who has a range 400 yds from his back porch - its called My Pasture.
See I have a shooting event. I do what others above posted, deciding what I want etc. which takes some time, then I gather the post celebration shooting supplies. Beer and Ice for the cooler. So I have to go through the Drive THru Liquor Store. There is 15 minutes total to town and back. Then I go to get a cigar cut and ready. Then I need some music and need to lug the 2 ton ghetto box because my old Ford only has tape player. Of couse I sometimes forgot something which pisses me off, tape for the targets for example. |

maybe 30 minutes, tops, if I have to lug a few extra ammo cans for x54R or 5.56 reloads.
Lately, its been alot of .22lr so it takes about 10 minutes. Hardest part is find enough gun cases/configure rifle size to available gun cases to transport the quantity/selection of rifles that I want to bring to the range.
If its a mil surp shooting day, its easy as they all slim profile rifles...If it is AKM/AR day at the range, I've got scopes and VFG's and stuff that I have to figure out how to get into the few cases that I have. I need more large rifle cases but am too busy buying guns/ammo. |

About 30 minutes. I always have some mags loaded however not for range shooting just so each gun can be quickly used if needed.
So most of the time is spent loading up the extra mags and putting everything in the range bag. Then loading everything in the car. |

Enough time to load my stuff into the car. I need to adopt a BOB system where I could be ready to go to the range at a moments notice. |

My range bag is always loaded, as is the range ammo can. They just have the usual stuff in them. The thing that takes the longest is getting the weapons out. Usually I can be out the door in 20 minutes on the days my girlfriend isn't going. Then it takes an hour.

Also helps that I've basically went to 3 calibers for the guns I actually wish to shoot the most. 9mm, .223, and .22. Doesn't take long to get ready to go to the range when all you have to do is pack a brick of .22, grab some full mags out of the "mag can", and toss in a few boxes of 9mm to the bag. Probably takes longer to figure out which AR(s) I want to shoot that particular day. |

It takes me a couple hours. I dont get to go to the range very often so I plan out all the things I need to test and organize everything I am taking. I usually spend the whole day at the range (when I can).

About five or ten minutes if I'm not bringing half my guns to the range. I have a range bag that always has eyes, ears, staple gun, .22 ammo and some miscellaneous stuff in it. My rifle magazines are already loaded and in ammo cans so all I have to do is case the guns and grab the range bag and ammo can(s). 'Course, I usually end up waiting another 45 minutes until my wife is finished dolling up.

an hour or so, sometimes a lot less depending on who I'm going with/meeting there if I'm going to a public range. 20 minutes or so if I'm going to the range out in the pasture.

Always ready the night before, Make targets, 2x check all gear, case arms, lunch box, cooler, set objectives in notebook, Ammo, it's a big deal to be prepared, I usually spend 6-8 hrs. per range session. 1-2 hrs. the night prior to prepare, and ofcourse many hrs. after the range cleaning / putting gear away. All worth it big time - That's what I do.

Depends on what i'm shooting and how many people are going with me. If it's by myself and just grabbing an AR and my sidearm, then I can just go out the door with a bag full of mags. Otherwise it can take up to 45 minutes.

my range bag stays packed, just grab a gun from the safe and go. when I get back I refill the bag, ammo, ear plugs, etc. Less that 5 minutes.

I typed up some manifests based on what I want to shoot and vowed to always pack the night before.
So last Saturday I arrived to chronograph some .38Sp loads and discovered I have no idea where the gizmo that connects the chronograph to the tripod is. (I set it on a table and made do). The last time I saw it was when I arrived at the range and realized I had neglected to bring the wire that connects the chronograph to the control box. My wife has a term for this- "callgoodheimers"

2. walk out and staple up a target 3. grab gun ears and ammo 4. walk to back porch 5. open window and commence firing I would say 2-3 minutes tops faster if there is a squirrel in the yard. |

45 mins to an hour usually.
I always take more than one gun when I go. Most of the time, I will shoot exclusively rifles or exclusively handguns. I really don't like to load mags at the range, so all my mags get loaded at home before I leave. So, either the night before or the morning of the day I am going to the range, I pull out the ammo and mags and have a stuffing party. I will also field strip all the guns I am taking, run a dry patch through the bore to make sure it is not obstructed or swimming in lube, and re-lube or re-grease the other moving parts if they need it. I have separate rifle and pistol range bags, so I don't have to unload and reload them. I recently started keeping my pistol mags in ziplock bags by model and caliber to keep them all straight. A SIG 229 .40 mag looks a lot like a SIG 229 9mm mag, so just throwing them in the range bag and hoping for the best is not a good strategy. I would rather spend the time preparing before I go to the range than have some sort of malfunction at the range. So far, this plan is working well for me. |

It usually takes me a half hour or so. Gotta make calls to see who I'd be going with, check for hearing protection, targets and ammo, break down the weapons one last time to check for anything I may have missed before, etc.

Depends what I'm shooting and the goal of the trip.
If I'm just plinking then less than 10 minutes. If I'm bringing target stands, IDPA targets and other action shooting stuff say 20 minutes. If I'm doing load development then more than 30 minutes. DN |

For my weekly range trip?
I get a box of .40 from the stash and walk out the door. Eyes, ears, masking tape (for pasting holes) and Q targets are in the truck at all times. Pistol is on my hip, as is a spare mag. Sometimes I'll just randomly roll to the range when I'm out doing shit - buy a box of ammo there. |
