Celebrations of Queen's Day in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn took a tragic turn around midday on Thursday. Four people were killed and 13 injured when a car ploughed through a crowd of spectators watching the Queen's Day parade.

The public prosecutor confirmed at a press conference that the driver was acting intentionally, but that there is no terrorist connection.

No, no –– don't ban ALL cars. Just evil, flat black, subcompact "assault cars" like this one. Or at least ban the high-capacity fuel tanks that let him drive that far without refueling.

After all, nobody really NEEDS a highly-portable "assault car" for simple urban commuting. He was probably compensating for some feelings of personal inadequacy.

One of the dead is the little girl that you see in the above pic.

The perp is a 38 year old Dutch guy that apparently got sacked a couple of weeks ago and had personal problems (which means that he'll probably skip prison), Mr. K.R. Kates.

Without question the most sickening thing about that video is sound of splattering you hear immediately after the cut.

Acts like these are well documented in many terrorist training manuals, but not preferred as it usually doesn't produce a death count as high as desired.

Sickening aside, the most horrifying thing about the ordeal to me is that the little girl in the picture above, who was killed by this act, was probably killed by the impact of her head on the pavement that you see about to happen in the photo (given the momentum and direction of the debris).

Chilling and enraging at the same time. The only way this guy can possibly get off is if he was killed himself, will be in a coma until the plug is pulled, or passed out at the wheel and this was unintentional.

Timing and direction of the act in relation to the VIPs in the parade route, though, makes the latter very, very unlikely.

Gov. Rendell, I saw you on television recently arguing against the rights of law-abiding citizens to own firearms - a right guaranteed by the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution, and consistently upheld by the highest court in this great land.

Please use the same rhetoric you used so forcefully to argue for the banning of so-called "Assault Weapons," to help ban "Assault Cars" like the evil, black, subcompact "Assault Car" that killed 4 people - including the child in the picture below - and maimed 12 others in a crowd of innocent people in the Dutch city of Apeldoorn today. Please at least ban the high-capacity fuel tanks that let the CRIMINAL drive the car that far without refueling, and the high-powered engines that gave his weapon such terrifying killing power.

Nobody really NEEDS a highly-portable "Assault Car" for simple urban commuting, and the more these "Assault Cars" infest our streets, the more likely we are to have even more bloody tragedies like this one.

As of now they are reporting two men and two women killed with an additional man dying. A nine-year-old girl is listed in serious condition. I would presume she might be the one in the picture above. The side profile of that little girl is a spitting image of my nine-year-old daughter. Sad as hell.

The picture was taken at a point before the crowd could even react. It happened fast and judging by the damage to the car, it was going pretty damn fast initially.
