Back when Europeans were killing each other off en masse every decade or two they had the best arms in the world with lots of innovation at the cutting edge of technology.
Now that they have all made friends...........not so much. |

With few notable exceptions, Euro museums are just top-notch. Nice pics.

Wow they would have to kick me out of there at closing time.

That double 9mm machinegun is the Italian Villar Perosa. It was featured in the Indiana Jones movie that had the Hindenburg. You can see a bicycle mounted one in the Indiana War Memorial in Indianapolis.

F-16 pilots call it that to make themselves fill better about flying a POS Lawn Dart with a crappy name. Its official name is still "Fighting Falcon". |

I was going to let you not being sure about the F-4 slide, but calling a fucking piece of shit Lawn Dart an F-15 is just FUCKING WRONG! Quoted:F15
http://i137.photobucket.com/albums/q230/Larain60/Belgium%20Military%20Museum/BelguimMuseum231.jpg That is an F-16. haha thanks for heads up. To be honest I really lost my breath and got over excited in this place. Seriously. I never saw such a collection of stuff before. I have a lot of pics of the signs next to the stuff, but the problem is it was all in french or flemish. And you know how much admission was? ZERO! no fee. |

You can see a bicycle mounted one in the Indiana War Memorial in Indianapolis. You are correct. This may have been a ground version of the weapon. Damn 3000 rounds per minute! The Villar-Perosa aircraft submachine gun was an Italian double barreled machine gun designed by Bethel Abiel Revelli, a Major in the Italian Army in 1914. The weapon fired pistol calibre 9 mm Glisenti ammunition, a reduced-power version of the famous 9 mm Para, at the extremely high rate of fire of 3,000 rounds per minute, or 1,500 rounds per minute per barrel. It was arguably the first submachine gun. |

Aw man, awesome pics. Thanks for posting them. Looks like they did a great job with the exhibits, and wow that is a lot of vehicles and aircraft!!
You might want to check out the National Museum of the Marine Corps if you are even in the Quantico area, they did an awesome job on it as well. Barrel by Glock |
