I got one. Went with it instead of the iPhone, 'cause if I drop and break the Ipod, I'm out music and shit. If I drop the Iphone, I'd be out music and ability to communicate.
Get the iTouch, and enjoy.

I love my iPod Touch 8GB. It's my first MP3 player and my first Apple product. I use it as my PDA for nursing school. It's just plain awesome.

If you can't get an iphone, the itouch is a great little accessory. I use mine in bed to read the news and check the forums when i'm getting ready to go to sleep.

I have an i-touch and my girlfriend has an i-phone. If I had it to do over again and weren't in the middle of a Verizon contract, I'd get the i-phone, no question. It isn't all that much more expensive than the i-touch, but it has the two main advantages of a decent (for a phone) camera and being able to connect to the internet anywhere. The internet is something I didn't think would be a big deal, but it really is nice to have it anywhere. Using it as a phone takes a little getting used to, but it's worth the adjustment.

They are cool but everything is proprietary to apple. You can't just share with others unless you 'jailbreak' you itouch.

I wanted one after I bought my wife one for christmas. Then I saw the acer aspire one mini laptop at walmart. Not as compact but has 160 gig compared to 16 and does everything and more than the touch for $300 or less.
