We had someone drop off a puppy on our property a few days ago, which happens alot out here in the sticks. The difference this time is that it was a dog I don't mind keeping. He's about 6 weeks old by the looks of him, and appears to be a mixed breed containing some Pit Bull (?) and something else big (who knows what). He's got a really cool looking brindle color, almost tiger-striped, and he's pretty burly for his age so I figure he'll be a big dog. Finally something that'll help keep deer out of the garden and the coyotes at bay. I need a cool name for him though and we can't seem to agree on anything suggested among ourselves so far. I get the final vote though, so I figured it was time to go global and share the quest with the hive. So let 'er rip. Give me some good-un's!

I'll throw out one of my all time favorites.
Cosmoline or Cosmo for short. |
|
Reilly.
Because if he lives like most other family dogs he'll be living the life anyway. |

There's all sorts of brindle dogs out there besides Pit Bulls - boxers, boston terriers, greyhounds, mountain curs, plotts and I'm sure there's others. I have a brindle mountain cur and it niggles me when people ask "HOW MUCH PIT BULL SHE GOT IN 'ER!"
Anyway, as to a name, I'd go with either Sexcopter or Baron Fluffenstuff Von Fluffermeister. |

that brindle color lends itself well to the name "dingy", we had a little feist with that color and name

Vick I see what you did there. A good name might be from an old service rifle.....Springy? Garand? Carbine? Krag? Trapdoor? Carcano? Or maybe Ay Four? |

How about Stain?
Nothing like calling your dog inside at 2am "COME STAIN!" ETA: I crack myself up... |

I like "Bullet", so it's definitely in the running. Also I thought about "Johnny Walker". I could call him "J Dub'ya" for short! I even suggested "Walker Texas Ranger" but wife said it was out unless I legally changed my own name to "Ricky Bobby".

I've taken some pictures and I'm about to sort through and find one or two good ones. Rather than have me DA my way through posting a pic for the first time, can I e-mail them to someone with the requisite Kung Fu instead?

A guy I knew during high school had Bullet as a nickname........he had been shot in the face with a .22 caliber and part of the round stayed lodged in his check bone...and ya I know....it sounds like one of those...."No shit, there I was stories"...but its true. |
