I have a few, and it involves getting the knowledge to contest the flawed Democrat ideals.

The critical problem here, is that conservatives are laboring under a severe lack of knowledge, combined with an expectation that everybody else should automatically discern what the right thing is.  Then, when they fail to see through the lies, we call them stupid, instead of calmly telling them the truth.



We're not contesting the lies.  We've been blaming the people being lied to.  In reality, most of the Obama voters are victims.  Even if they do consciously want socialism, they are radically misinformed about what socialism is.  They want an improvement in their lives, and only the socialists are stepping up and promising it to them.

We need a much better base of knowledge to contest the leftist ideals.  We need to be able to explain that capitalism offers the superior system for people to improve their lot in life.



Who are the two groups we have to worry about?  Colloquially: The American Idol crowd, and also the college educated liberals.

WTF, DF?  you say.  They can't be talked to!  They're irrational!



There's a theory which states that it is inevitable that population outstrips the available resources, called Malthusian economics.  The college educated liberals know it well.  We on the right, thinking all the liberals are irrational stupids, don't study what they do.  Thus, we're never ready to give them answers.

How to answer Malthusian economics?  Malthus did not take into account the effect of ever increasing efficiency of industrial processes on the availability of commodities.  We don't have to mention Malthus, or give a dissertation.  Short answers which address the point will suffice.



We are now living in the society shaped by 50 years of leftist indoctrination, and in some schools of thought, the indoctrination is/was backed by the KGB to take down American from the inside.

Don't blame the victims.  In essence, unless we are already fluent in the various economic theories, we are ALL victims of the same indoctrination.  It is time to break the cycle.

The goal of our opposition is to render us incapable of effective resistance to them.  The insistence on "Fuck Obama" is proof of the success of their method.  We fail to get our message out, and the only face of us which people see is angry and irrational.





 

Our natural reaction blinds us to the truth AND what we can do about it.  Our natural reaction is EXACTLY what our opposition needs in order to succeed.



 

Only if you are a John Galt type striker, and want to hasten the collapse.


IMO, there doesn't have to be a collapse.

Or if you just want a catharsis for the intense emotion inside.

OTOH, if you are looking for an EFFECTIVE response, you'll do something different.





 

It just hit me.

No matter how rational, factual, logical, truthful, well advised or wise my arguments are, you're going to act in accordance with your feelings and only your feelings.

Which makes you a democrat.  Or you have chosen that approach to your own beliefs.

This would explain a lot.

I'm sure it would.  I'm more interested in SOLVING the problem we have.



 

I had rejected the conclusion before, because it simply makes no sense.

But it is the only one which remains.



 

I've read several threads in which the majority insisted upon angry pejoratives as the only valid response.  If "Fuck Obama" was actually a RALLYING cry, I'd have less problem with it.

But it has been just about the only response.

Please note that we STILL aren't discussing economic concepts, or what to say to Obama voters, even though that's what this thread started with.



 

Okay, then dissent and organize, instead of rejecting dissension and organization simply because "Fuck Obama" makes you feel better.

It cannot be about the man.  It HAS to be about his ideology.



 

 

Here's the fundamental problem: The Democrats are running intellectual circles around conservatives.  The government intervenes in the functionings of capitalism, and when it fails, they blame capitalism.  Then, as a solution, they propose government intervention, which makes the problem worse, which in turn spurs another government solution.


Who ANYWHERE is speaking up for capitalism?

ETA - in the absence of information to the contrary, I'm seeing hardcore lifelong Republicans actually considering that Obama might be right when he talks about the need for a regulatory body for the financial sector.

That should scare the shit out of you.





 

Yes - they want you to actually answer their questions.  They want to hear that capitalism has a place for them, and would give them the ability to improve their lives.





 

Wouldn't you say the lesson is that we have to change our message?





 

The one thing I've learned is that they have a lot of difficulty with the concept of their own personal power or intelligence.  They do not think they are smart enough to make it without help.  They've been pounded with propaganda all their lives about how much society needs to help people, with the implication that they are the ones needing help.

I've posted before about what a huge problem we have on our hands.  The leftists really do require us to figuratively hold their hand through any kind of conversion process, as they don't understand how to think for themselves.  You can thank the educational system for that.

If the central objection is that you simply don't want to do that, say so.  I'll respect that a lot more than all the other smokescreen.
