As someone just a couple of years south of 50, reading some of the things by our younger members gives me hope. It reminds me that not everyone under 35 are brainwashed sheeple led on by the media. I see some pretty intelligent postings made by 18 to 25 year olds in here and its good to know that there are free thinkers coming up the younger generation. Keep it up guys, it will be up to you to carry on the good fight after us older guys are gone. That being said, GET OFF MY LAWN!

As someone just a couple of years south of 50,

Really?  I'm shocked.  I would have bet money (if I had any) that you were 22 at the oldest.  LOL  No offense, just one of those things I was REALLY off on.

In general I see very little common sense in the younger generation out in the real world.  There are a few decent ones, and we have to congregate here to make ourselves look like a larger group.

All the other ones are sheep

Maybe I am jaded, I just got on Facebook and lots of my classmates from 12-15 years ago are flaming liberals.  One even has a picture of Karl Marx as his profile image

My kids are awsome 15,20 and 26.  There a lot's of great young people on here too. Not to mention all our troops in the 5 armed services.

I have a lot of faith in the future.

I'm 34 and the father of two and frankly I have as little confidence in my generation as I have in yours.  WWII generation may be our "greatest" but they sure did a piss poor job raising their kids (obviously I'm being general).

I'm 23 and consider myself a libertarian simply because I love liberty. I believe that our Founders were, collectively, the wisest collection of men ever assembled on this Earth and their ideals should be carried on. When I get out of school, I want to make it my life's work to promote the ideals of limited government, free markets, and the promotion of liberty in general.

I honestly don't picture many of us being past 50.  I figured most of us were 30 somethin, and I'm usually surprised to find ou thow young some are. It leaves me generall impressed to see the maturity that is displayed.

The upcoming generation has alot more going for it than you think. There was a teacher on here that had his students choose something to paint on the wall as a mural and they chose ghost recon. The .MIL is meeting recruitment goals far faster than anticipated. People nag on them for their obsession of technology, yet the .MIl seems to be on the same drug so if anything it's a perfect match. Look on facebook and myspace with the 'support our troops' groups and military oriented groups in general, there are thousands. If anything the video games are a godsend, kids almost want to go to war after playing some of them.

They are well prepared to be future americans IMO.

They are plenty of good kids and young men out there but there are more deadbeats than them, therein lies the problem, socialism here we come.

Coupled with a PC MC culture who worships the 'noble savage' i.e. anything not occidental we are headed toward primitivism - there is no stopping that either.

Get someone involved.  Were gonna need them.

And on the immature note.  My G.I Joe can kick your He-Mans ass.

I'm 75 but I also feel a lot younger. I hope all of you younger men and women will continue to love our country and try to ensure the socialists don't win.

20 year old conservative (starting to lean very libertarian) college student checking in.

As someone earlier said, I also believe our founding fathers were collectively the smartest minds we've ever seen assembled in one place on this earth.  Their prowess in political science, philosophy, and many other realms, is painfully obvious - and that's why it's so infuriating that people these days don't see it.

I hope my generation can stand up at some point and say "ENOUGH!" with regards to the amount of laws passed down upon us, the amount of liberty that is being eroded away, the massive amount of debt that they're saddling my yet unborn children and grandchildren, and the ever-increasing amount of socialism that is infiltrating our society.  My life's goal is to stand up for what is right.  As it was said in Atlas Shrugged:

"He still thought it self evident that one had to do what was right. He never learned how people could want to do otherwise, he had only learned that they did."

Cheers.

48 here, parents were both Democrats that voted for Goldwater/Nixon/Ford/Reagan/GHWB. I finally figured out how bad a leftward stance was when the pipefitter's union I was in wanted us to wear Rose Bird pins (super Liberal activist judge on CA Supreme Court). Becoming a cop fully changed my outlook for the better. Took my family, dogs and guns from CA to Idaho in 2004 for all the obvious reasons.  Now I'm what my dopesmoking sister calls a Conservatarian - libertarian on all issues except I want sales/transportation/manufacturing/smuggling of drugs to be Capital offenses punishable at 3000 fps. Only other state I'd live in would be Montana.
