Sold a few guns laying around the house that I didnt need and have some extra $$$. Your opinion of which would be a better "new toy" would be appreciated. Already have an AR and an M1A.

Bobby F.,
Had the M96 with both rifle and carbine barrel, long scope mount, etc., - NIB. An experienced and trusted friend said the damn gun had reliability problems and the guy I bought it from stopped selling them and stopped answering emails. I think I got out of the deal LOSING A MERE $150.00. So much for my exp.
You have an AR - in .223 (?) and an M1A1 probably in .308.
Why not consider an ArmaLite AR-10(T) or AR-10A4 in .243. With a 55grn. bullet you'll achieve about 4,000 fps with the 10 and that spells flat shooting. (About 1.5 MOA)
Am I prejudiced in favor of ArmaLite ? You bet. I'm always prejudiced in favor of quality.
My $.01.
(Never let the Colts' huggers forget that the "AR" in AR-15 stands for ArmaLite !)
