Can certain threads or posts be flagged or bookmarked as "My Favorites" or some such?  Some of these posts are informative and/or entertaining enough to be saved.

What LotBoy said.
Cut and paste the http with the page # (This one would be: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?id=85095).

C&P the entire thread, & save it (or just e-mail it to yourself) if it looks like the author, or mod might delete it.

Now I've got one.....

I suspect most of us use search engines very often. Anyone know how to put one right on the toolbar (keeps saying there's no room when I try)?
Anything faster than typing it in, or putting it in "favorites"?

In the upper left hand corner on the tool bar the FILE appears, click on it and from the drop down menu, select SAVE AS, you can save the thread  to your local hard drive as a .HTM file.  You can look at it even if you are off-line by double-clicking on the file.
