Has anyone heard or seen this?

Validity Undetermined according to Snopes.

No one can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009??

It has already started....

Ammunition Accountability Legislation

Remember how Obama said that he wasn't going to take
your guns? Well, it seems that his allies in the anti-gun world have no
problem with taking your ammo!

The bill 20 that is being pushed in 18 states (including Illinoisand
Indiana) requires all ammunition to be encoded by the manufacture a data
base of all ammunition sales. So they will know how much you buy and what
calibers.

No one can sell any ammunition after June 30, 2009 unless the ammunition
is coded...

Any privately held uncoded ammunition must be destroyed by
July 1, 2011. (Including hand loaded ammo.)

They will also charge a .05 cent tax on every round so every box of ammo you buy will go up at least $2.50 or more!

If they can deprive you of ammo they do not need to take your gun!

This legislation is currently pending in 18 states:
Alabama, Arizona, California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois,
Indiana,
Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Missouri, New Jersey, New York,
Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Washington
.

Send to your friends in these states AND fight to dissolve this BILL!!

Yes this has been going around for some time and IIRC the one of the sickening things about this was the major push had to do more with money than anything else. It has been over a year since I read them but in one of these threads somebody posted a link to some documents showing that one of the biggist pushers of this legislation was the invintor of the technology who stood to make a lot of money on the system to produce and track the serialized ammo they paid some considerable money to some lobbyists to try to get this going on the state level. Fortunately the Dems are still a little gun shy about this type of legislation but keep your eye on mexico and their problems. I was sickened to hear Mrs. Clinton try to share blame for Mexico's crime probems.

Shocking.  Almost as stunning are  the 1,672 other threads bringing this startling revelation to our attention.

But Dude...those other threads didn't use a large font and they weren't bold. Plus they didn't use color. The amount of importance is directly proportional to the format of the text. The only thing that would make this thread even more important would be the use of multiple animated gifs so that people can recognize the important sentences.

The SC version of the bill never even made it out of committee.

IIRC this was first posted on this site in March of last year - so it's been a regular weekly (almost daily sometimes) thread here since then.
The above quote is a lie, or at the very least outdated info, since it has since been defeated in many of those state legislatures.  As a matter of fact, it was not only shot down in committee in the Tennessee State Legislature last year, but just this week a sub-committee studying gun issues recommended the passage of a bill to prohibit the sale of such ammunition in the state, as a means of defeating the idea from being proposed again.
I would suggest people in other states seek similar legislation by contacting to their state reps and senators. If enough states say no, this money making fraud will die the death it deserves.
