Not to hi-jack the thread, but how do you get a skunk out of the trap without making a, well you know, a stink'in mess?

A 125 grain Federal .357 round at 1500 fps makes interesting art when applied to one of those.

They look hilarious when they run. Just something about their tiny little legs shooting back and forth just makes me laugh.

there not stupid. They come to the all you can eat Buffet, pig out take a nap and wait for you to cut them loose

O the evil bastages, I have trouble with them all the time. I have inventive ways to take them out from my younger days. Now I just use the Gammo pellet gun.
Oh and a pissed off 'possum is not fun trying to chew on your leg at 13. |

Of all God's creations, the 'Possum sure came out on the shit end of the stick in the looks department.
Personally, I wouldn't mind having one as a pet, exept for the fact that they are so short-lived (~4.5 years). |

Quoted: Possums are a bit different down here. Nocturnal, and found mostly dead on the side of the road, or digging through the rubbish bins. Yeah, the natural habitat for a possum around here is on it's side, in the road, with blood splattered around. |

To answer the skunk question, the trap is about 200 yards from the house. If I can get him w/o hitting the wire I get bonus points. The funk goes away after a while, if they even spray. My GSD's kill whatever wanders closer to the house.

They are also very deceiving, notice how cute and cuddly they look when they are sleeping then when they wake up somehow they turn into the spawn of Satan. |

I have never seen a possum that could tear up dogs. My hounds have killed hundreds of them without a scratch. They just aren't fighters, lots of teeth but no bite.
Now skunks in a live trap. Just walk up real slow and cover the trap with a bag or something. Carry it to a tub of water and drop it in. Presto dead skunk no spray. Posted Via AR15.Com Mobile |

I have cats-REAL cats! so possums+cat=dead cat.
Therefore I practice genocide on possums whenever I see one....if you think all those guns make a mess try an AR with a 55gr HP or SP.....fun fact:possums have so much intestinal worms it ain't funny |
