I'm trying to upload a file on "high speed" internet through Comcast @Home and I'm getting a transfer rate of 14.4 kbsp.

So I ran a test.  My download speed is about 73 kbps and my upload speed is 33 kbps.  These speeds are almost what you would expect with a regular modem.  Anyone else having this problem with @Home.

To check your upload and download speed visit this site. http://www.dslreports.com/r3/dsl/stest/

According to my service plan I've got the same thing.  156 down and 15 up.  Isn't this how it's always done?

For me it's never been this slow, not even close.  I've ran tests before and gotten 600 to 700 kbps down.

They advertise 1500 kbps down on their website.

According to that site, I get:

1500 kbps down
108 kbps up.

Depending what site you use you get different speeds as you most likely know.  If I test using buckeye I only get 675 down.  For more places to check your throughput try the different ones at

This has been going on for awhile for several locations. It seems that when the local cable companies convert over from @Home, they lower their through put.

BUT most sites are reporting that it is temporary! Hopefully when your local cable company finishes its conversion they will bump back your bandwidth.

My @home service has also been horrible lately.  It been that way for several weeks now and I'm thinking of changing to bellsouth dsl.  Mine is only on half of the day now as it usually is off from 10AM to 5PM every day and they don't know how to fix it.
