This article is by the associate editor of the PD's editorial pages.  I regards to CCW, he says:

There are no compelling logical or statistical reasons to deny Ohioans the sort of gun rights already enjoyed by most of the rest of the nation. States that have relaxed their gun laws are no more dangerous than the six states that continue to forbid concealed weapons.

Amazing.  An editor of a large newspaper has common sense.
I wonder if those gun rights that Ohioans should be allowed to enjoy would include Evil Black Rifles, currently banned in Cleveland.

Edited to add:  I understand he's been informed that Michigan is a shall-issue state (error in 3rd paragraph).

The guy's name is Phillip Morris.  I wonder what he's been smoking.

But it's ok, really.  He called for "extensive firearms training ... and a constant monitoring of permit holders to ensure that they do not commit felonies" to be written into the law.

Let's see, a two-week 80-hour class (retaken annually) just to get and keep the permit, and weekly rectal exams by the police.  That should do the trick.
