NT gunman look-alike sighted in Perth
A man answering the description of the Top End gunman suspected of killing British tourist Peter Falconio has reportedly been seen in Perth.
But West Australian police spokesman Case de Wit said local officers had not received any further reports on the suspect.
An employee at the BP service station in south suburban Carlisle allegedly saw a man fitting the gunman's description filling up a Ford utility on Saturday afternoon.
"We have heard nothing more, there is a task force that will look at things like that but they keep their cards pretty close to their chest and we can not say any more," Acting Inspector de Wit said.
Workers at the service station would not comment on the sighting, claiming they had been advised by both police and BP not to talk to the media.
Hundreds of reported sightings of the gunman poured in from across the nation for weeks after the abduction of Mr Falconio and his girlfriend Joanne Lees on the Stuart Highway, 300km north of Alice Springs in July.
Ms Lees escaped from her abductor by hiding in the bush for several hours while he tried to hunt her down but Mr Falconio was unable to escape.
Mr Falconio's body has not been found despite police embarking on one of the country's biggest manhunts.
Ms Lees has returned to the UK.
