I drill with my shaft.

In my experience, the harder, the better.

I am assuming this has something to do with mines or oil.

It's all about shaft diameter and depth requirements.

If ya' got the right tooling and plenty of power it's not a problem.

Be sure to use a wet drill.  Trying to drill dry is dangerous.

It's all about the preparation. Lack of preparation at the drill site will end in frustration.
