Yes, you will eventually die. Probably not as a result of this though.

Bad news. Looks like you've got an eye maggot.
If you pop that bump with a pin, a tiny writhing maggot will crawl out. I'd do it soon, before it chews its way to your optic nerve. |

Okay, update. I just tried to pop it with a sewing needle, to kill the eye maggot. It hurts now, and I can't see. I feel dizzy. |

You'll be fine...right up to the point you croak and turn into a brain-eating Zombie, and spread your Zombie Germs to the rest of the population, thereby initiating both SHTF, and TEOTWAWKI. Bastard

ANSWER:
Wife of a co-worker had the exact same thing. She had dry eyes. Over time, it developed a callus on her eyeball. Doctor gave her drops. He said it was 50/50 that it would go away on it's own. |

You do need to see at least an optometrist. They're not the eye-surgery docs, but they know how to diagnose and evaluate eye disease. I had an eye-bump evaluated a few weeks ago, and pinguecula was one of the early differential diagnoses. Turns out it was nodular episcleritis, and we're still watching the nodule as it shrinks, hoping it goes away completely without surgery. Well, I should say we're keeping an eye on it. Anyway, point is––get a professional exam, and when you schedule the appointment tell them why you need to see the doc (so they put you in the 'urgent' line instead of the 'needs glasses' line). What you have does not look like cancer, but that is one possibility and it needs to be evaluated by a professional. |

I can get a FEROCIOUS itch in the corner of my eye near the tear duct sometimes.
Probably rubbing it during your sleep. Try some eye drops. |

Filarial parasite spread by fly bites in the jungle regions of central Africa. Now go back to whatever you were eating. |
