Not only do I name my guns, but I also named all my screwdrivers, sockets, wrenches, hammers, pliers, files and power tools.  I also named the refrigerator, microwave, washer, drier, vcr, TV, stereo, and dvd player.  Then I named my truck, my wife's jeep, son's bicycle, and daughter's stroller.  Furthermore, I named all three sinks, both toilets, and the bathtub.  If you are going to name one inanimate object, you might as well name all of them, especially the ones you use most frequently.  Naming guns is fruity.  I don't care what Vikings or Mountain Men did, today it is fruity.

My Cav-15 is named Buddy, after my high school dream girl Buddy Fleck.  She was divine.  To bad I lost track of her two years ago.  She was like 5'6"-5'9" brown hair, it was long.  Her last known job was house cleaning for a family business.  Hobbies included pets and more pets.

If you have seen her drop me a line at [email protected].

Decked out Rem. 870 is named Hellhammer. Bonus points if anyone gets the name.

And Glock 21 is named something inappropriate for this forum heheh.

A couple un-named yet.

Only named two of them (so far, it's not   something I take lightly):

The first AR I built from a kit I called Betty.  The name comes from an album title by the defunct HR/Punk band Helmet.  Sometimes the rifle gets referred to as "Bad News Betty".[/*]
And the second one a good time later: I bought a very sweet Remington 870 from a nice gentleman out in California.  He put all the bells and whistles on and did some magic to the barrel.  Out to 20 yards, the gun will put all 9 pellets from an Estate Tactical Buck load into a pattern I can cover with my hand.  It's also good enough to repeatedly hit an IPSC silhouette out to 116 yards with wimpy S&B slugs.  For what should be obvious reasons, that gun is simply called The Vang.[/*]
Only 2 of my firearms have names. My Remington 700 LSS in 7mm Ultra Mag I call "Heather" after my girlfriend. My girl calls my AR10T "Big Mama" (it weighs about 14.5lbs.)

Well, make that 3 firearms. I call my Marlin 1895M in 450 Marlin "Thumper" for obvious reasons. [;)]

When I bought my Garand it had a real fugly stock, it really must have been through two wars [:D], and the metal finish was slightly worn but solid. So I started calling it "Ole' Ugly."

Now it is rebuilt and restocked. I can't call it "Ole' Ugly" anymore.

My Bushie M4gery is called my bow because I carry/ store it in a youth bow case, incognito.  A bow hunting friend of mine once asked what kind of bow I had pointing to my case.  When I "whipped it out" he said "Oh my G_D!".  Name stuck.  No I am not gay.

THAY, FELLATH!
If naming your guns is "fruity", I'll sashay up to the bar with "Darlene" anyday!

Of course I've named a couple of them!
Just as ships are "female", so are most machines referred to as such.
It's comforting to give the inanimate object a personality.
The Dissipator is "Darlene".
The Beretta 1201FPG3 is "Wicked Vicki".
The Beretta 96 Centurion is "Gina" as in Lolabridgida, the Italian actress.
The Browning BAR Safari is "Diana", Goddess of the Hunt.
What'll I name my next girl, the Remington 700P?

Tune in next thread...maybe it'll be "BRUCE"!!!

Edited for the "I'm not gay, but, my wife is jealous of the guns" disclaimer. [rolleyes]

All mine came with "names" from the manufacturer. I would expect to get a discount on a gun I had to "name" myself.
