New Bin Laden TV broadcast
Al-Jazeera says the video was filmed within the past two weeks
Osama Bin Laden has accused the West of loathing Islam in a video message broadcast by the Qatar-based satellite television station, al Jazeera.
In the recording, Bin Laden also says that the suicide attacks in which an estimated 3,000 people were killed, were intended to stop US support for Israel.
It has become clear that the West in general and America in particular have an unspeakable hatred for Islam.
Al Jazeera said Bin Laden - who appears in his combat clothes and with a Kalashnikov submachine gun propped up beside him - stated that the video was made to mark three months since the attacks on New York and the Pentagon on 11 September.
A spokesman for US President George W Bush dismissed the tape as "terrorist propaganda".
The wording on the tape indicates that it was recorded within the last two weeks.
The chief editor of al Jazeera, Ibrahim Hilal, told the Associated Press news agency that his station received the tape "a couple of days ago" by an air courier service from Pakistan.
The sender was anonymous, he said.
In the excerpt so far broadcast by the Qatari station, Bin Laden condemns the West for excessive bombing of Muslims in Afghanistan, referring specifically to an attack during Ramadan prayers a few weeks ago.
"The latest events have proved important truths," he says.
"It has become clear that the West in general and America in particular have an unspeakable hatred for Islam.
"All that you hear about mistaken strikes is a lie and a sheer lie," he said, adding that the US had deliberately targeted a mosque in Khost.
"Terrorism against America deserves to be praised because it was a response to injustice, aimed at forcing America to stop its support for Israel, which kills our people," he said.
White House spokesman Scott McClellan said: "This is nothing more than the same kind of terrorist propaganda we have heard before."
The Pentagon - whose forces are searching for the Saudi-born dissident in the mountains of Afghanistan - said it did not know whether the video was real, or if it was new or old.
"Nothing that Bin Laden does surprises me," spokesman Richard McGraw said.
Al Jazeera has so far only broadcast an excerpt of the video, and says it will air the whole 33-minute tape on Thursday evening.
It is the first Bin Laden message to be broadcast by the TV station since 3 November.

Well straight from satan's mouth - the reason for the attack was to force America away from Israel!
Now do you still think that we should do what our new master wishes, or tell him to go hump the camel he rode in on?
