Hey look at it this way. It's the only time during the year that many stores will let you return items without a receipt. If you ask for a refund instead of an exchange, they may try to make you accept store credit. Do not accept store credit in lieu of cash. If you must accept store credit, return to the store within a week and turn in your credit voucher for cash. They can not force you to maintain store credit at a store that has nothing you want to buy. Then there's always Plan B. Keep the item and wrap it up and give it to somebody else as a present next year. [;D]
