There is a long discussion on this in the AR15 forum.  This is interesting stuff for sure.

I was hoping this was going to be a list of the simplest tools needed to machine a 0% lower.

ArmaLite does their own uppers and lowers now, but LMT used to do them in the early days.  I would bet that your list is fairly accurate, maybe give or take a few.

That list came from Florida Shooters Network.

Not surprising

I just found out Thursday that YHM is making ARs now...........they do all their own machining.....so they claim.

I wouldn't mind seeing a list like that myself.

I too would be interested in such a list.

I have heard that SNS Industries receivers are machined at the Mega Machine shop in Tumwater .  A manufacturer I know took a tour or the Mega Machine Shop and saw the SNS marked lowers being machined.

Olympic does not make the Sun Devil lowers. Sun Devil makes their own.

Bullshit.

Neither does CMT.

You guys need to stop believing everything your Navy Seal gun dealer tells you.

You realize Stag is owned by the son of the owner of CMT, right?

They're in the same building.  They might as well be the same.

Sun Devil machines their own uppers and lowers.

90% true due to some of those no longer exist and a few of them make their own.

This situation is also very common for many many other industries.  You would be surprized how many manufacturers make other peoples items.  Usually it is to customer specs but it is a normal thing in manufacturing.

A lot of people would be surprised that YHM has been making AR components, ie FSB, for a few big name AR makers.
