Anyone got the skinny on a good skullcap for cold weather?

I have an assortment of cheap Wal-Mart Sockcaps, and a full face Under Armor style ski-mask.

Looking for something that will keep my nogin warm along with my ears. Something that will wick moisture, and that is not real itchy.

What say you?

I live in Northern Maine and it gets a little cool here in the winter. I am also bald so I like a warm cap to keep the head toastie. i found the Boby Armor pull on just the ticket. It is low profile and you will not find any warmer.

I wear a Carhartt similar to the one pictured above. Mine is made of fleece and has ear coverage.

Does the trick for me here in DFW.

I have one that looks like the kind people wear for skiing. It's real warm, plus you can tie the bottom strings together to protect from the wind

Come on, just cause it says VA under my name, doesn't mean I don't know a thing or two about cold weather. You learn a little spending 15 years in MN.

ETA:

WTF is a skull cap? Where I am from they call them beanies.

I LOVE my smartwool beanie.  It kept me plenty warm while snowboarding in Alaska (can't get much colder than that!)

It was an all black one I got from REI for like 20 bucks.

NOTHING beats merino wool for keeping you warm!

I find that in winter time the heavy duty tinfoil works for me. in milder weather the off brand regular tinfoil is a good compromise between price points and protection.

Go with the shearling.. Not the rabbit.  The rabbit sheds and you'll be spitting bits out constantly.  The very definition of Teh Suck.

I've worn a trapper/bomber style shearling hat for some years now.  It's ugly and people give me some weird looks, but I'm warm so fuck them  Keeping the ears/back of neck warm helps a LOT.

My favorite cold weather hat is a Seirus Quickdraw Hat.

You can get it at campmor.com, but a lot of other places sell them.  http://www.campmor.com/outdoor/gear/Product___47125

What I really like about is is that it has a built in face Balaclava that sits up in the hat when not in use. It's not bulky at all.  I pull the Balaclava out when it gets below zero degrees F here in MI.

This.
I think they are still 10 bux. a piece.
I have one in each vehicle and one in each bag.
Using it with a thin Balaclava is also a nice idea.
