(Looks out window).
I don't see any deer. But if I do, I'll crack the window and let you guys know how it went. |
I'm stuck at work,, or I would be gettin the boat, camo and shotgun ready
I might go to the range, but even that is up in the air.
With the price of ammo these days, all I'm shooting is the CZ 75B. I have 3k rounds of $5/box 124gr. Olympic to play with. God, I miss those days. |

Found a nice spot Tuesday afternoon that overlooks a small pond....quite a view of the hillside on the other side. Lots of oaks ,and acorns. Coffee brewing now............ |

Hidey ho, good neighbor. I'm watching the path between the water hole and where they bed down during the day. Even if it's too cold for them to bed down, they'll be walking this path.

I don't hunt the rifle season anymore. Waaaaay too many idiots from up north that have kin down here come down here to hunt.
Saw a guy with Michigan tags on his truck a few seasons ago at a check in station checking in.......................... a goat. Yep, he shot someones billy goat and had the tag on it and was at the check in station trying to check it in. When we had a milk farm, we had numerous jerseys killed. Caught this guy red handed crossing back over the fence after seeing what he had done. Got his plate number, a NY plate, called the sheriff's dept and game warden. They caught him a little later. I used to like to go to the woods with my 30 30 Contender and get 2 or 3 a year. No more. Too many jerks with guns and no respect for others property. I only hunt the archery season now. Much more rewarding. Every now and again I hunt the muzzleloader season with my .54 cal flintlock. |

I'm up, although rather late, I'm still up. I guess getting out there late beats not getting out there at all.
at work for a couple hours, then getting the dog and going after some bunnies!

Not me.

Up early out of habit but still too gimped up from my wreck to hunt. Great morning for it though.
I stayed up all night reading the Creepy Story thread.

Wish I was going hunting. Good luck and good hunting guys. Keep the wind in your face.

Cats woke me up early so THEY can go hunting.
I'm thinking about hitting the industrial surplus store circuit as soon as they open. I have a hankerin' for high-speed steel things, fasteners by the pound, milling machine accessories, etc. |
I slept late this morning. I'm going this afternoon. I could've shot a four pointer day before yesterday but let him go. If it isn't at least an eight pointer it gets to live.
Got in the stand 6:15
Stayed up in it till 8:45 This time didn't see anything . This being Saturday there were a couple of hunters also walking around. I still want to fill this last tag. Only can shoot a doe now. Filled my tag on a 6 pointer opening day Wednesday. It was cold here this morning |
I think there are people hunting dove outside my house as I type this.
Me, never been hunting in my life. |
Thanks to technology, I'm posting this from my blind. Saw 4 does but they were out a ways. Getting hungry and need to run some errands so will have to go in eventually.
Was 18 degrees when I got out here. Stupid winter. |
I woke up at 2 this morning, it was freezing ass outside, I went back to sleep. I had everything staged by the front door ready to go. I woke back up at 7 a.m., it was still freezing ass outside, so I think I'll watch football games today instead. I'll go next weekend when I can shoot Bambi's Mom or Dad.
With the wind chill it feels like 11 degrees outside. I slept in and will head out in the afternoon. Already having one in the freezer from archery has made me not very motivated.
I'm headed out the door in 15 minutes to go hunting for a Browning Buckmark pistol. A friend spotted two of them buggers wondering around a not often hunted store. Wish me luck.

Quoted: What general area is that? We're looking at a house near Plymouth, bordering the White Mountain National Forest.Just got back. DAMN!!! it was COLD out there. It was about 16 degrees ,spitting snow with a 10-15mph wind on top of that. Didnt see a thing but hey...........it still beats working. I was sitting by and walking around this little frozen pond.......... http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y214/ultramagbrion/Nov22spot001.jpg the little crik that runs off of it......... http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y214/ultramagbrion/Nov22spot003.jpg Do you think there will be a lot of wildlife up that way? |
