15 or so years ago I got a job as a teachers aide and had to pass a FBI background check. Total finger prints.
Twice in the recent past while cashing a check I had to give my thumb print. Just applied for my Texas drivers license, had to give my thumb print. Are you in "The System"? |
Quoted:
yes. CHL permit. Not yet, but moving to Texas soon will change that. I was greatly disappointed in reading that finger prints are required to obtain a TX CHL. I may have to hold on to my VA permit for as long as possible. |
Yeah, CHL put me there. Had other things since then too, obviously.
Fortunately I do all my crime while wearing gloves. |
No. No CHL and when I got my TX license they didn't ask/require it and I've never been asked to provide it upon renewal (done by mail anyway now).
Oh, most definitely! You can't work in certain fields without being very intimate with the government.

Quoted:
yes. CHL permit. Ditto for both SC and WA. Of course I've never had a CHL because I wasn't well enough connected politically in SC to get one and of problems with smudged fingerprints in WA. After over 8.5 years of trying I hope to finally be able to carry concealed one day.z |

Prints taken for Wash. St. CWP, DNA swab taken during inprocessing at Great Lakes.
You could say I'm in the system... |
I wasn't until I got my concealed carry permit.
Why the fuck should I be processed like a criminal in order to be able to do something that is constitutionally granted? |
Since birth. US Air Force brat born at RAF Lakenheath. (foot print)
Also, .mil contractor, attempted to enlist USMC 2 times, and did NROTC for a year. Applied for police and .gov positions. They've got enough to choose from, that's for sure! |
Here, in the NSA, they take our tongue prints. Getting that black ink off is quite an ordeal.
In. CHL for sure, but they got mine when I signed up for kindergarten.
I'm in a couple of times. Got me on the CHL, and for my EMT cert.

Like a thousand times over!!!! Shit my name is in the system too for my last military occupation.
Yep.
I had to pass a "fbi background check" a while back too. I friggin ACED it!! W00t! My prints are in "the system" and I just don't care. I have no reason to worry about that. |
Yeah its in the system for lots of things, military, CCW, NFA, ect. But its ok i have gloves, hehe
No.
Not required for CHL in NH, although I had to "remind" my local PD about that because they were starting to get in the habit of asking for them. |
Took a temp job at the Federal Reserve Bank NYC when I was 29; that was the first time.
Military then government contractor. Yes, my prints have been taken several times.
Yep...CCW in MI. At least they didn't use the ink...those new scanners are pretty cool.
Multiple times.
The Army, CCW permit and now with the local school board. |
Quoted:
Military, so prints and DNA. This + CHL and more prints for my job with the state of IN. |
yep, for my permit when I lived in DE. AL doesn't require them, at least not my county.
at this point I don't doubt little else isn't in the system and the data keeps growing comrade.
