Just a few minutes ago I got home from school and was studying at my desk which sits directly by a sliding glass door. Outside the door is our back yard, which is below a deck that drops about 10' to the ground via a set of steps.
It's a dark, cold and kind of gloomy night and I'm here focused on Torts when all the sudden...I'm being watched. I can feel it...I know it...shit's about to go down. 
Right about the time I realized something's watching me I hear a THUD!!! on the sliding glass door, not 3' from my right shoulder. I flash my hand into my desk drawer and pull out a pistol. "AhhhhhhhHHHHHHH!!!!!" I scream, fully ready to give whatever hobgoblin was at my door at midnight a lead salad. 
I stand up quickly, kicking my chair to the ground and draw my pistol up to chest height, ready to shoot my assailant in his sternum. I see nothing. [>:/] "AHHHHhhhhhhhh???" I say, puzzled. I slowly traverse my pistol down and what do I see? A fu$*(@&(!ing cotton tail rabbit, staring me down from his terrifying height of 6". 
I give up, I'm going to bed. I'm taking the pistol with me. If that damn rabbit knocks again I'm going to have a pair of new slippers for x-mas that they'll be fur lined. Grumble.
