I was told that these are currently in deployment “In several theaters” and no longer in the development stage. WTF!! This sh** isn’t even classified and I’ve heard jack sprat about it. (I guess I should pay more attention)

Does anybody know anything about a program at Wright-Patterson AFB to develope laser communications between planes instead of radio comm.  Heard about it a few years ago from a friend of mine and never saw anything in print about it.
